  • My Pregnancy Saved My Life

In a lot of ways, getting pregnant saved me. Some people would probably disagree with that statement, saying that I'm too young, too poor, too irresponsible, and maybe even too naive. I don't care about what those people have to say about it because They're. Not. Me. The decisions that I make are not based on what they think. And I am going to enjoy it when I can show them that *I* can do it differently and that I won't fail at being a mom. I think so much clearer now than I did eight months ago! Thank God I do, because I can't tell you how foggy everything seemed to be back then.

Because eight months ago, my life was a blur, a buzz, and a high.

  • Birth Presents: Perfect or Distasteful?

I really don’t see the big deal about mothers getting presents after the birth or adoption of a child (and I don’t call them “push presents” like others do because so many mothers have cesareans and some parents just adopt). They say it’s a trendy thing to do now, but I know it’s been done for a while. The only difference is now companies are making money off the concept.

While I do agree with people who say the ultimate gift is the baby, it’s nice to see a token from a happy partner, be it the first or 8th time. And it doesn’t have to be jewelry or something expensive.

Here are some of the most popular gifts I’ve seen given to moms: More Here...

  • The Post Holiday Blues (They're Heeeeerrreee...)

    Ecccchhh!!!! It’s here.

It was looming in the corner on the 26th like some creepy stalker, watching me eat the last of the cheese platter and a slice of ham with my fingers when no one was looking. It watched me on the 28th as I started to put the Christmas stockings back into their box and throw out the half-eaten box of Chocolates on the counter. It laughed at me yesterday, as the excitement of New Years Eve took over for a few hours as I drank some over priced, sparkly cocktails and enjoyed my last night of a consciously chosen month of gluttony.

And today it’s here. I know it’s here, because I haven’t turned the tree lights on yet, I require a little hair of the dog and I’m out of f***ing brie. More Here...

  • Easy Cereal Jewelry For Kids

It is so difficult sometimes to find crafts that toddlers can actually participate in.  With my little friends I am always worrying about their safety when doing a craft as they love to put everything into their mouths!  It is also difficult to find a project easy enough to complete before a toddler loses focus!  But that doesn’t mean they are too young to do a craft, you just need to find ones that are safe, easy and fun to do!

After racking my brain the other day for a craft I could do with a 21-month-old and a 3-year-old I finally came up with an idea!  Edible necklaces and bracelets!  Not only was this craft safe, easy, and fun it was also inexpensive!  More Here...

  • "Daddy, How Was I Born?"

    In 2020.

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born?'

The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I setup a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little pop-up appeared that said:
