Would You Get A Tattoo Of Your Child's Artwork?
Scrolling through Facebook earlier, I saw someone post a picture (which is below in the gallery), of a dad who got a tattoo of his daughter's artwork. At first I thought, 'Well that's sweet!" but then I wondered if either party would ever regret it. The cute flower one above looks super cute, but will you regret it in 15 years when both mom and child are much older?
Would you ever get a tattoo of your child's artwork? Why/why not?

I would seriously consider it.
I'd get their handprint. That's more fun.
If you're going to do this, at least do ALL of the artwork. This person did some picking and choosing on certain aspects of the picture so it wasn't exactly the same. I would personally never do this but to each their own. I think it's kind of weird and if my mom had something like this that i drew, i would laugh...LOL
if i liked tattoos i'm sure i would. but i don't like tattoos hahah
are you sure all the child artist featured are still healthy or alive?
this is actually a really neat idea! Don't know if i would do it but then again I don't want children.
I would get their names, in their handwriting. I don't think I'd want a scribbled drawing on my skin for the rest of my life, but I can understand why some people would like that
No way! Maybe if they were adults and professional artists...but not childish scribbles, lol. Tattoos cost a lot of money, and are pretty permanent..
If I really liked a particular piece, I probably would.
That's a pretty cool idea, actually. :)
But what happens when the kids gets older and they know their parent has an awkward tattoo of their early - possibly - not-quite-so-professional art creation ?
They're like, "Aww Mom ! Get over that already, I've got my own place and a boyfriend now and everything huh ?" Φ ≡
I think it would lose it's cuteness when the kid grew up and found it disturbing.
I think it'd be sweeter to let them write their name and tattoo their early signature on you.
It's cute now, but I think teenagers might find it really awkward and embarrassing.
I don't know, maybe. My brother-in-law's ex-wife has one that their son drew, that looks really good- but she is also the kind of person that that sort of thing looks good on.
They aren't thinking about the kid, who's probably going to be embarrassed by the teen years. It's a selfish and stupid thing to do. Looky looky at how good my kid can draw!! And everyone who looks is supposed to say something really cute, even if they aren't impressed.
I would love it if my mom had a tattoo of one my drawings. It would make me feel special, but then again I was never easy to embarrass and I appreciate the thought process more often then thinking about what my friends might think.
It looks absolutely adorable on the dads! But the moms? Yuck. Moms should get REAL tattoos.
It's a sweet thing to do. But when your child grows up they'll probably think it's stupid.
@daydreams_nightmares@xanga - I second this thought.
Plus, my parents combined don't have enough skin to have been able to tattoo all of the 'artwork' from even just one of their kids. SOOO many drawings.
More than likely. Would need to be something small. I'm thinking something like the bird. I teach kinder so my tattoos are a little more hidden. I think it would be cute to do his handwriting of something like "I love you mom" that he wrote. Sidenote: The kid that drew the dino (i'd say dino bc I'm assuming a dragon would have wings) is a pretty talented young artist.
definitely would.
Oh totally. My daughters stick figure people are badass. I don't really have regrettable feelings when it comes to tattoos and some of mine are already dated looking for my age.
If they get my artistic genes, I'd probably wait till they were older and ask them to draw one up for me :)
NO, no, no. that is like naming your child something cutesy that you like, i.e. table or pillow. Think of the child for heaven's sake. How is he/she going to feel when she is older?
