Tell Me Tuesday - Baby's First Haircut

They are precious to us: our beautiful babies! And they have totally cute, incredibly soft hair! I was hesitant when the time came for baby's first haircut. His curls! The sadness of it all! But, as Daddy insisted, it was time. And so it was with a sense that my baby was becoming a little boy, the curls were clipped. He was about 10 months old.We waited until our daughter was older for her first haircut, and even then it was only because her hair was growing at a different rate on top than it was in the back. We couldn't let our little fashionista have a mullet, oh heck no!
In most Baby's First Year memory keeper kits is a little box for that first curl of hair. I had to make the choice: look like a mild weirdo and keep the hair - or toss it in the trash?
(Shhh, I kept it!)
Tell us! What did you do with your baby's first curl? Did you keep it? How old was your child for his/her first haircut? Were you sentimental about it?

I haven't kept hair from any of my kids' haircuts, mainly because I decided to do scrapbooks instead of baby books, and didn't want to risk losing the hair. I took before and after pictures of each of the first haircuts, and sometimes still take pictures when they get their hair cut.
i hate babies. what about babies first time loosing their virginity? that is more like it.
I tied it with a blue ribbon and put it in a locked box.
@woundedbeyondrepair@xanga - See? That shit right there is why no one wants to be your friend. Go cry on Myspace.
My little man is 18 months old and had his 3rd haircut today. He looks so cute! His first haircut was right before is first birthday. The stylist made me keep his hair but I haven't done anything with it. It's straight as a board (like mine) so it's not exactly a "curl". I may stick it between some packing tape to "laminate" it so it can fit in his baby book. Otherwise it's too fine and would just fall out!
My daughter turned 3 this past July and her first haircut was just this September (her hair grows very slow and we only cut her bangs). I wish she had curls but it's always been straight. I kept the little bit of hair and tied it with a pink rubber band and put it in her baby book. I got a little teary when I cut it
Hahaha. The kid in the picture looks like A baby Derick Zoolander! I'm pretty sure that face he's doing is Blue Steele.
I know this is slightly off topic, but I didn't get a hair cut until I was 12 years old. It looked just fine too.
My sister was 11 for her haircut. And my brother was 7 for his first hair cut.
Now I'm not sure how I will handle my baby's first hair cut when it comes. That will be a sad day. But I don't want people to call him a girl all the time. My brother dealt with that and hated it. I prefer the softer look of hair just grown out a bit.
