  • Christian's Birth Story

As you know, Christian's birth was a scheduled c-section. My surgery was scheduled for 12:30 pm, but I had to arrive at the hospital at 10:30 am. I was surprisingly calm as I got ready to go to the hospital. I think everyone else was more anxious than I was. My parents came the night before so that they could watch CJ for us while we were in the hospital. It was hard for me to say "bye" to him because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep with him for the next couple of nights.

We got to the hospital and I was immediately taken into triage. The 2 nurses I had were awesome! I stayed in triage until it was time for me to go into the operating room. The only bad thing was that the anesthesiologist had a really hard time with the spinal tap. I swear...he poked my back more than 7 times!! It hurt so bad that I started crying. The reason why he had trouble was because of my back surgery that I had done when I was younger. Regardless, I was in so much pain that the nurses said they would guarantee that I had a private room for everything I was going through.

Once the spinal tap was done, they brought Hubby into the room and then Christian Daniel Banda entered the world! He was born at 1:29 pm. He weighed 7 Ibs 5 oz and was 19 inches long. After 39 weeks of waiting for our little guy, he finally arrived!

Pictures taken that day are in the photo gallery below!
