You just can't make this stuff up. A U.K mom who attempted breastfeeding and was unsuccessful with her human children, has decided that it makes her feel "complete" to offer her breast to her daughter's pug dog. Yes, a
dog. I'm all for breastfeeding, but this just seems kind of crazy!
She's quoted as saying, "Having Spider suckle on my boob means I finally feel complete and a better mother."
Breastfeeding always stirs up controversy (and for what reason?), but I totally agree with any of you that think this one is just plain weird. I tried breastfeeding with my youngest two, and because of chronically low milk supply, it didn't work out for us. The thought never crossed my mind that I felt "incomplete" and to rectify that, I should just nurse the family dog!
What do you think? Outrageous? Say what?!
Those of you who don't like seeing breastfeeding in public...
how would you react to the public breastfeeding of a canine? The image above was posted on Reddit, here's the article that I read.

LOL what did I just read...
That woman needs psychological help stat. There is just no justifying that as "normal" or healthy.
Call me crazy, but I believe human breast milk is for human babies? I mean, I don't have any breastfeeding experience, but I think this is strange behavior regardless of the fact whether or not breast milk is beneficial to dogs.
I'm impassive.
How can it not work for her kids, but it can work for her dog? And I agree, that is nasty.
@babybug329@xanga - Devil's advocate here, cuz I also think this is crazy....but, "I believe human breast milk is for human babies?" Do you drink cow's milk?
Would it be less weird if she gave it to the dog with a bottle instead from her breast? I'm thinking it might be less weird.
To me, the weird thing is having a dog attached to a breast. Just like it would be weird if we humans attached ourselves to suckle a cow's teat. *I'm cringing at my comment.*
....
@sarahsmurfette@xanga - Touché! I do have to agree with you on the part about giving the milk to the dog in a bottle or dish being less weird than allowing the dog to nurse just as her child would. I do drink cow's milk, but I do not drink it from the direct source.
There is nothing more sacred than "Mother's Milk."
How can it be comfortable? Dog's teeth?! I know that many women do extended breastfeeding, but dog's teeth are different then a child's teeth, how can it be comfortable?
This is just bizarre. I'm all for breastfeeding, but doing so with a dog? No, it's gross! I'm wondering, is human breast milk even healthy for a dog to be drinking? All mammals have different nutritional needs, so I'm hoping the human breastmilk isn't detrimental to the canine.... Plus, I don't even want to think about how bad it would hurt to have a dog bite down on my nips... Just sayin'....
Won't the dog lose his hair and have to need to wear pants or something ? I don't know how that DNA stuff works but I'm pretty sure this is not gonna turn out well ! Φ ≡
Let's just hope she knows when to quit, unlike a few parents I've heard of before... imagine seeing a full grown dog sitting in her lap. Those poor kids didn't stand a chance.
That's disgusting.
she needs a doctor!
I knew I wasn't the only one! Just kidding. That's a really odd thing to do and probably vary unsanitary for her breast. I remember breast feeding and my boobs were sore, prone to cracking and we were warned about infections if we didn't take care of our ta-ta's. I think of those sharp little puppy teeth and all the nasty things dogs do with their mouth and it makes my stomach churn. People say dogs mouths are more sanitary but it's not true. The healthy bacteria in their mouth is stronger and can kill a few more germs than ours but they eat poop, their own vomit, dead things and lick their butts.
I think she needs help with bonding with humans.
I would never encourage a dog to view my body as a food source. Just saying. And, ow... teeth! I don't know exactly how soon dogs get their teeth, but I know it's young... I got my dogs at 8 and 9 weeks, and they both had teeth already.
That doesn't seem good for the dog either... except for small puppies, dogs are meant to chew their food.In a nation where the breast is also considered a sexual object, I would wonder if someone in authority might not think of this act as a form of beasteality and arrest her ?
I don't see a problem with it. Not my thing, but to each his/her own.
This is "crazy", yet drinking cows milk throughout adulthood is perfectly normal. That's omnivore logic for you.
Just...no.
Wow...she really needs help. Breast Milk is made for human babies. NOT dogs. And aren't the teeth hurtful?
@optimaloctopus@xanga - Well we're not drinking it directly from the source. It's from a gallon.
LOL.
