A while back, I read a blog that had an occasionally random post. Rather than trying to weave everything together, they just made like a bullet list. I enjoyed reading it, and I even gave that a try on my own blog. It's been a while, but I think this week calls for a little random...
~ Today marks the one year anniversary of my mom's liver transplant! I can't believe it. Sometimes it feels like it's only been a few weeks! Yay for mommy! ;)
~ Even though I don't like to admit it, I am terrified of trying to get the boys through homeschool high school. TERROR-FIED.
~ I have 10 tattoos. All but two are generally visible.
~ This past week, the boys spent the week with my parents (they live a couple of hours away from us) and they had a GREAT week. My parents took the boys to an Amusement Center (arcade, laser tag, bumper cars, etc) and then my brother and sister-in-law took them and my nephew to see the new Spiderman movie. It was a big week!
~ The husband and I spent six hours watching Firefly one night this week. Yep. We are so badass when the kids are away.
~ I am unashamedly admitting that I have read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.
~ I don't like using conventional fraction lessons to help my boys with fractions. I like to use pizzas. And cookies. And recipes.
~ My boys want to get their ears pierced.
~ We just found out that Billy Boyd (Pippin from LoTR) is going to be at Dragon*Con this year! We all had a little squee moment.
~ I loathe Reality TV. Can't. Stand. It.
And one last little tidbit...every time I type/say the word "random," I immediately think of "RANDOM DANCING!" from iCarly. Ugh. :/

i can so relate, especially the random dancing and reality TV...my random things would be 1. kids are gone to college shouldnt i feel sadder? 2. training for upcoming 5k...my friends cant believe it. 3. i hate my job, but glad i got one. 4. just tried beet soup, how can something so heathy make u feel sic..tastes like grass. and lastly 5. Going away for the weekend, so excited
I actually can't relate since I don't have children and I don't watch a lot of TV.
My 5 random things are:
1. Totally in love with hedgehogs. They are just so cute and so fascinating.
2. I went to collage for aesthetics and absolutely hate it.
3. I start treatment for my 7 anxiety disorders and a eating disorder on Monday. Super scared and for some reason being really secretive towards my family and friends about it.
4. I have a salamander named Chomp and we are going to quite possibly get a Chompette today.
5. I have been engaged for 4.5 years and plan on not getting married or having children. My mom is starting to become pushy with wedding plans knowing a wedding isn't going to happen.
I can relate when it comes to iCarly. I've seen the show a grand total of three times because of baby sitting and my nieces. I think it melted my brain a little bit v.v
I don't know how this 5 random things got started, but I want to participate too! It looks like so much fun and I love random.
1) I'm fifteen pages from two-hundred pages on the first draft of the second book in my series. Excited!
2) Halloween is coming up and I'm going as all out as I can manage (Even if that means dressing up at midnight after work and just taking pictures) I LOVE Halloween!
3) I'm collecting classic literary novels to read to my future children (in case I have any). I currently have a bookshelf of them, most of which consists of Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, Lewis Carroll, and a few operatic stories.
4) I am about to shower and put on some make-up for some picture contests on vampirefreaks.com ... I won't win (I never do), but I thought it might be fun to look pretty for a little bit.
5) I'm putting aside money each paycheck to rework my wardrobe. Someday, I will have nice things.
I have to admit this, since it's something we wouldn't see in my neck of the woods. I love watching "Turtleman". Hardly an intellectual venture. I also love autobiographies of famous people. Re-read them every 5 years or so. And when MIchael Jackson's "Thriller" came out, we got it for the kids, and to this day I appreciate the dancing that happened for that video. So many things of a 60 year old come to mind, but these are a few. Oh, and the morbid fascination with watching the families on reality t.v. with millions of kids. How do these women have bladders intact? And I love watching "Shameless", nasty nasty. And, "Weeds", because I love Mary Louise Parker.
