Underground Railroad Kidnapping Children
American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer has sunk to a new, disturbing low with his anti-gay statements. He called for an “Underground Railroad to deliver innocent children from same-sex households.” This incredibly dangerous rhetoric has potential to do great harm. When this news story (link) was pointed out to me I couldn't believe it. It is one of those things that is just so shocking and just so REALLY??? It leaves me a bit speechless. How much destruction could self-declared “Harriet Tubmans” do to same-sex families, motivated by Fischer?
By suggesting this, Bryan Fischer is advocating terrorism, plain and simple. These are the same folks who send their own kids to re-education camps in the Caribbean or even some US states where they are tortured and brainwashed into being more obedient to their parents (google "Escuala Caribe"). The guy just called on people to illegally kidnap kids. That in my book qualifies as terrorism. He just called upon a nation to kidnap kids. Put his ass in jail for inciting illegal kidnappings! People will believe what Bryan Fischer advocates, take it to heart and destroy families.
Fischer is calling for the kids in these kinds of homes, with loving parents who have the same genitalia, to be taken from their parents simply because they have the same genitalia. Not only that, but he is praising a woman who kidnapped a little girl and went on the run prevent her at all costs from seeing her mother. Neil Patrick Harris? Dan Savage? He wants those men to have their children kidnapped. This is precisely what he said. This is what he advocates.
Comments like these are not benign. They are calls to action, heeded by the least-willed among society, the emotionally and mentally disturbed, and those most-susceptible to the ravings of a lunatic.
Fischer is well known as an advocate for the criminalization of homosexuality in America, and has compared gay people to cannibals.
In 2010 the Southern Law Poverty Center designated the American Family Association as a hate group, saying the AFA’s "propagation of known falsehoods and demonizing propaganda" was responsible.
LGBT families are not a new phenomenon. There are over 650,000 same-sex couples raising nearly 250,000 children, according to the 2010 U.S. Census data.
A Human Rights Campaign official said Fischer’s call for kidnapping children from same-sex partners is not only offensive, but a harmful mischaracterization of families that struggle daily to provide loving and safe home environments despite significant legal, financial and dignitary inequality.
Fischer once said, “Do not be under any illusions about what homosexual activists will do with your freedoms and your religion if they have the opportunity.”

This article educated me on a lot of things and everything written in it is true, to my shock. You can do your own research, but you'll find that these things were really said and re-said. This guy really feels this way, feels justified in his belief, and is a leader in this organization.
This is a scary thing.
Sadly, a lot of people think things like this. To me, I cant see too much of a difference between him and Hitler. Maybe I will sound like a hypocrite, but people like that, should not be aloud to live since they are so hateful towards people that cannot help the way they feel. Also, I guess a man and women couple raising a kid must be PERFECT... Nothing wrong with that, since you know... They are of different sex.... *rolls eyes*
There are definitely gay and straight people who shouldn't have children.
/stunned
How can anyone in their right minds actually advocate kidnapping a child? The depths some people sink to in the name of righteousness...
@chronic_masticator@xanga - A friend of mine pointed out to me the insanity of the thought that kidnapping is somehow better and less traumatizing for a child than to have two loving parents who happen to be gay. How?? How is this better for any child? I don't understand. Even in the name in righteousness.
Bryan is a well known fundamentalist who has little patience for anyone who knows more than he does. I've heard him on the radio. I tune in to Christian radio about once a month just to see what these people are up to, and I'm not saying all, but some, are just plain terrorizing. Like James Dobson spanking babies. I think Bryan has the following and power to cause some harm here, but it won't last. It' would be really good to see him in jail. He wouldn't do well there.
I really cannot accept the definition of this person, of this kind of activity, as Christian...even, especially, if they define themselves as Christian. It is not Christian at all. Furthermore, let it be known, that Christians were people designated as "Christians" by the pagans,,,the pagans named them "Christians" because of the love they had for everyone, and for one another. This action is not love. Bombing abortion clinics is not love. Violence in the name of God is not love and is not Christian. period. Fundamentalists fall into this because they have separated themselves from the Holy Mother Church, the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Jesus with the Popes as His successors who teach correctly, and without error. Now you can all abuse the Church, because the Church condemns your abnormal lifestyle, and invites you to reform it, but you must admit that the church does not preach and teach this stuff.
Everyone's going insane. I think the fundamentalist extremists mean business with this whole "culture war".
@mortimerZilch@xanga - The church doesn't preach this stuff, no. But I do have to chime in here. I grew up primarily Baptist (and I am still a Christian, the real, God-loving, forgiveness-believing kind). As I recall it, this group was supposedly one of "the good guys." They have wide acceptance in my experience in church groups in general. It was hard for me to reconcile this simply because I didn't know there were people in this group who had such strong, hate-filled feelings and wanted what amounts to violent action against others who don't agree.
I am in the wrong for not having researched for myself these groups who were simply accepted
because some of the things they said were things that seemed good. I can no longer claim that naivety. This is a hate group. Real God-loving, forgiveness-believing churches should no longer associate with them.
@dw817@xanga - Trollolololol!
@bowknee@xanga - I really don't know what trololo means but I found I found him here.
Some weird singing dude and he looks -ahhm- strange - to say the least. I swear he's drunk or something. ≡

This is... I don't even know what to say. "Frightening" doesn't seem to cut it.
Can we stop with the word terrorism already. Everybody wants to use it for their own agenda now. Speaking of dangerous, that's dangerous!
Fischer once said, “Do not be under any illusions about what homosexual activists will do with your freedoms and your religion if they have the opportunity.”
I tend to think this statement has truth to it. Just like many people feel non-conservative christians are not tolerant of gays, many christians feel like the secular society is not tolerant of them. Both are over-generalizations, but both have truth to them. This is a two way street. Everyone only wants it their way. This has to stop. Yes, This Fischer guy is wrong, but 1)he is only one person, we need to stop giving one person so much credit in having the power to shake the whole tree. 1a)You may only be broadcasting one man's message, giving it more strength and reach.
