  • Little Chinese Girl Gets Seriously Injured And Ignored

When I saw this...I just couldn't believe it. It's just too shocking to even consider it to be real...but it IS real and it DID happen. It was recorded by the security cameras in the streets that a little girl get's crushed by a truck passing, it practically cut her in half! Here's the link to the video, I warn you it's very graphic and just...tragic: http://www.elnuevodia.com/videos-noticias-ninaatropelladaagonizaymuereantelamiradademuchos-1223270507001.html

In the recording, it was shown how the girls got crushed and just left on the ground like some roadkill. People pass by and see the girl, but they don't help her at all, she's just lying on the floor bleeding to death slowly dying. After a long time of just lying there and dying, a woman is shown in the video that picks her up and takes her to the hospital. Sadly it was too late, the child died.

I wondered, why didn't someone help her out sooner. But then in the article it says that there is a law on helping injured people, if you help someone who is injured, you must pay for the hospital and treatment expenses. So...no one didn't want to help because they didn't want to pay. Another life lost because of money...how typical.

Would you do something about it if you were caught in this situation? Would you ignore someone who's in need of help?

Okay no offense... but why would you post the video link? Yes, that's tragic. And yes, that's cruel... but its just as cruel to post the link. It's okay to vent about the issue, but to post the link of the poor girl's dying vigil is just as horrible as the person who decided to put it on the internet to begin with! That poor poor little girl.

(I did not watch it. I saw something about it on the news and was just as disgusted then.)

you forgot to mention she gets run over TWICE

In the event that I happen to witness someone getting hurt, I would most definitely stop and help.  I know, it is our nature usually to "not get involved" but it is just inhumane to leave someone to die, little child or adult.

This is monstrous. This almost beats the case of the South Korean couple who went to internet cafes leaving their baby alone in the apartment, fed it rotten formula, where it then subsequently died of malnutrition.

There is something disturbingly wrong with China's laws, from a humanist perspective. Or really any decent person.

@IdealBeauty@xanga - This really has nothing to do with it being in China (except maybe the paying for hospital fees things), because it happens everywhere, and failry often (although not always in such dramatic cases). It's called the bystander effect. Everyone just ignores the person in help and figures that someone else will deal with the situation, why should they bother. It can be something as little as regular as seeing a car off the road and not bothering to stop or call 911 because someone else probably has already or will after you. I remember learning in Sociology that there was a woman who was attacked for half an hour otuside her apartment complex, while screaming and begging for help, he left her dying in the streets then came back ten minutes later to kill her, and nobody called police for hours afterwards. 38 people claimed witness to the attacks, but nobody did anything.

i think what's more disgusting is the law they have about helping people. because if that retarted law wasn't a law, then someone would have helped her without it causing then thousands of dollars.

  • cantbelieveitt_surveys@xanga

@thatkyliegirlx@xanga -  it's true that this happens everywhere, but the fact that there is a law like that will prevent even the most heartfelt person from interfering, simply because they need to pay their bills instead.

I watched the video and just had to walk away after seeing that. It was so upsetting and my heart just breaks for that child. Omg the poor thing was so young, a baby. First off the person driving the truck?? You run over something and you don't go check it out? Even if you do have to pay for the hospital bill there is NO reason to leave a child bleeding and drying. Drop the child off in the ER and walk away. Where are the girl's parents? I would never let my daughter walk around especially that young. This was a tragic and everyone who observed this had a hand in this girl's death.

  • dead_poetic009xx@xanga

wait what??? there's a law saying if you help someone who's injured YOU pay the hospital bills?? lol FUCK CHINA

  • phuck_diz_shiz@xanga

please show me this "law" where if you help an injured person out you must pay for their medical expenses ? it doesnt sound right does it ?

The reason why people are reluctant to help is because the injured person usually sues the good Samaritan ( suing them for medical expenses). Why would they do that? They cant afford the hefty medical bill, hence need to blame someone for it.  Therefore most people just turn a blind eye --> not their problem they dont wanna get involve and definitely dont wanna get sued for being a good guy

This is a pretty old article dont know why its resurfacing now
  • iones_island@xanga

@phuck_diz_shiz@xanga - i'm not sure that would apply here, unless it was the parents suing, which i suppose i could see, but i would think that something like that would be more likely in america than China.

to the OP, no one cares and that's the problem. this isn't new at all, and i'm not referring to the video, i'm referring to the phenomenon of people not giving a shit while other people are dying. it isn't because they think someone else will help or any bullshit like that even though it makes a nice little conscience soothing justification, it's because deep down people don't give a damn unless it affects them. that's why if you are being raped you're better off yelling "fire" than "help". because someone assaulting you won't affect them, but if there is a fire then it might, so be damn sure they'll pay attention then.
for evidence look no further than kitty gionovese, who was stabbed to death outside of her apartment building in New York, while her lovely neighbors yelled out their windows for her to kindly shut the fuck up all that screaming for help. not only did her assailant stab her repeatedly, he left and came back, all without the slightest bit of interference.

this girl is now in heaven. she was dead after 2-3 days or so after she was sent to ICU hospital.

  • rilthe@xanga

    Omg,so sad,what's wrong with people.

  • kimsweetness@xanga

I would be the first one to help.I can't believe some people what the hell is wrong with them

  • walawalawinksi@xanga

I don't care the cost, I would've helped this child. Is not life more than money? The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. How could I not do anything? I need no further proof that people can be so selfish and evil.

  • Pollypinks@xanga

It's horrid, and what is just as horrid are the parents who blame school teachers for their children's bullying behaviors.  My husband is a teacher, and it's getting worse, not better.  Children treating others horribly.  Where do they learn this?  I have a few answers, but will keep my mouth shut here.  I saw this when my kids were in grade school.  My son was the smallest in his class, and occasionally there would be a bully who would beat on him just because he could.  Last year a friend of mine called me to give me the sad news that a co-student of my son's had drowned.  When I called him and told him, he informed me he wasn't sad because that boy had bashed his head into the school building on several occasions, but, because his parents were rich and popular with the principal, nothing was done.  Then I  began to remember.  We do unto others as we would have them do unto us, unless they're going to overpower us.

  • LaceNation@xanga

That is just disgusting. I don't understand a LOT of things about this video.

  • lloydkuhnle@xanga

The one lady who picked her up helped restore my faith in human nature.

    One sick video.
