How Do You Read Ovulation Tests?
The reason why I am asking is because I am having a hard time reading the results. I am not an idiot, I can read. If the test line is same color or darker then the control you are fertile. This lasts for 2 days. Got it.
For me the test been like that for over a week and every time I take it, the test line is still as dark as the control line. Now, am I reading it wrong or is something the matter with me?
Same thing happened last cycle as well. This is making predicting my ovulation day super hard.
Did anyone experience this? How do you read the results? Are OPK's reliable?

My opks are positive for a good long while (4-5 days) but if you constantly have + opks (try test right after AF) then you need to go to the dr as you might have PCOS (it causes your LH to always be high
@xllxo0o_0_Kara_0_o0oxllx@xanga - I did test after AF it was negative for 2 weeks and then positive for one whole week. I know its supposed to be only positive for 2 days, so I found that hard to pinpoint the right day.
@pinkdiffusion@xanga - No, it's not SUPPOSED to do anything, your body does what it's SUPPOSED to do not the strips. The numbers they give you are an estimate, kind of like the saying that you ovulate on the 14th day of your cycle, also wrong. If you're concerned about how long they're positive for then call your doctor. Also, ABOUT 36-48 hours after your last positive is the guestimate for when you'll O. BUT since everyone is different you might possibly not even ovulate even with a +opk.
In this case, i would probably use this as a guide line as to what week is your "fertile week" rather than trying to pin down a definite day of ovulation. remember, sperm can live for a day or two inside you. I only charted/used opk's for a few cycles to figure out my body's rhythm, then just went at it without them.
Good topic, I dont know much about this and am glad you wrote about it!
