  • Too Sexy for School?

I came across this story that had a (to me) shocking photo. When I first saw it I honestly thought that it looked like a prelude to a nude pictorial in a magazine. Then I actually read the story behind it I found out that the picture was of a teenage girl and the photo was refused by her high school yearbook committee basically for being to sexy.

Then I heard that her parents were fighting it and supporting her in getting the picture into the yearbook. I couldn’t believe it. It looks like something girls take with their girlfriends and never show anyone or something they'd secretly send to their boyfriends not something that would go into a high school yearbook and the fact the parents are siding with her kind of makes me wonder about them.

I see this often and maybe I'm just a bit old school and its way too much for me. I would never let my daughter dress like this let alone go out of the house or take photos that make her look like she's aspiring to be in a men's magazine. This is coming from the opinion of a girl who developed 32c breasts by the 7th grade (I looked like a twig with two melons stuck to my chest). I had to wear shorts under my homecoming dress or my dad wasn’t going to let me go so I have no clue what its like to try and dress sexy as a teenager and I'm happy I had that restriction.

I think there is way too much sexiness in teens going on these days, but the same could be said for the mico-mini skirts and short- shorts girls wore back in the day. I think all things circle around but is it just a too much of a dangerous time nowadays for dressing this way?

Would you fight for a sexy photo of your daughter to be put into the yearbook?
