  • Help! Need Baby Shower Game Ideas

I'm throwing my best friend, who is 19, a baby shower in February. She's due late April, on the 24th. The baby is a girl who will be named Olivia and the Mom and Dad are so excited!

But I've never been to a baby shower before and I need ideas for fun games for everyone to play.

I thought it'd be fun if everyone sent me a baby picture and we put them all on a board and had to guess who was who, and also we'll all guess the birth date, her weight and length. But what are some other fun things we can do? I'm so excited for my friend and want to make this day a lot of fun for her!

What are some good games to play at a baby shower?

There's the classic "dirty" diaper game. Guess the baby food. Baby Shower gift bingo. etc. I've been to a lot of baby showers.

    I like your game idea.

Who can "Chug" baby bottle quickest
(I recommend poking a bigger hole in the nip, or putting a small amount in)

Matching baby socks race (whoever get the most matching socks wins)

Two armed diaper change. Teamed, two people try and change a diaper quickest one being the left hand, the other the right hand. Whichever team times quickest wins.

Measure the baby belly on mommy. Break out string and have the guests guess at that measurement, see how big or small they think you are! Closest measurement wins!

When I threw a shower for my sister we did the Baby Shower Bingo - you print the cards and guests mark off squares as your friend opens gifts :)

We also did a Price-Is-Right type game - that can be fun/interesting.  It's kinda fun seeing how much things cost and what people think they cost.

Not so much a game, but on the invites I told everyone to bring a onesie or bib, and then had puffy paints, iron-ons, etc and we all decorated a bib or onesie for my future niece :)

I think my favorite part of the shower was I had each guest write on a piece of scrap book type paper a special note to my sister, either advice, a funny story, good luck, whatever... Then I took a picture of each guest with my sister as well as pictures through out the shower.  I made a scrap book for my sister to keep, with the written note and picture of each guest - I did 2 people per page.  It was cute, and my sister will always have a nice way to look back and remember the shower :)

    Have fun!!

Most of the ones I was going to say have already been taken (bingo, two armed diaper, chugging contest, writing a note to the mother-to-be [with advice, stories, or wishes], measuring baby belly contest, baby food contest, "dirty" diaper contest [actually, I find this one disgusting but it's intriguing to see how far people will go to win], but to add to it:

Crossword Worksheet with baby related words on it, such as diaper, pacifier, bassinet, etc.. (the one with the most filled correctly wins)

Fill-in-the-blank Worksheet with quotes from popular baby lullabies but with some words blanked out. For instance, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little,_______, how ______ what ______ are" (the one with the most blanks filled wins)

Hot Potato type game: Using a baby doll, a duck [my friend had a thing for ducks], or a stuffed animal, and of course music

Fill a large baby bottle (or large pacifier) full of candy like M&M's or something (be sure to count how many are in there), have guests guess the number of candies in the bottle, winner takes the bottle and candy.

[ If the baby's name hadn't been known to anyone else, my friend did a game where the guests had to guess what name she was going to name the baby...it's funny cause two people guessed the same name and it was right!!!]

I've been to many baby showers so I got the games down pat ;P now if only I could say the same for wedding showers... :(

    "After Dark Guessing Game"

Before the shower, get a bunch of brown
paper bags and number them with a marker. Stick one baby item – like a
pacifier, teething ring, diaper, etc – in each bag and staple the bag
    shut.

Pass the bags around and let your guests guess
which item is in each just by feeling it through the bag. Have everyone
jot down their answers on a sheet of paper. At the end of the shower, open each bag and announce what was inside. Whoever gets the most right wins,
and the parents-to-be get the baby gear.

I didn't have games at my shower.  But I've been to plenty of them, and it looks like all the games I've ever played have already been mentioned.  Hope it goes well!

I didn't read all the comments so someone may have already suggested it but at my sister's shower we took rolls of toilet paper and all pulled off a piece that we thought would fit all around her belly(she was like 8 months along at the time) and whoever was closest to fitting exactly got a prize. Oh and tehre was this game where little plastic binkies were frozen in ice cubes and you had to melt the ice to get them out. Whoever melted the most the fastest by blowing on them won a prize.

    uhm, bingo is cool
we decorated onesies for my sister (with safe fabric markers)
i saw an idea for pin the sperm on the egg - awkward, but if you're all close with the momma to be, i think it could be really funny !
have everyone bring a baby photo of themselves, then see who can guess which baby photo goes with which guest.  or you can get famous celeb baby photos and have people guess who is who !  if it's hard, maybe make a celeb word bank
baby scramble, scramble the letters of baby related words (drieap = diaper)
wear garbage bags, then blind fold partners and have them "feed the baby" using apple sauce.  then if you want, you can switch so each partner gets to be both the baby and the feeder once.  really entertaining !
