Wal-Mart has pulled the infant formula, Enfamil Newborn (with lot # ZP1K7G, 12 ounce cans) after a Missouri baby dies from a rare bacterial disease. The product pull is cautionary since the child's death is still under investigation and tests are being run to see if it the illness is linked the the formula or an outside source.
Customers can return their cans of this formula for a refund or exchange.
The
news article has some details on the bacterial disease that the infant died from. The article also notes that parents and caregivers wash their hands, wash and sterilize all feeding equipment and prepare enough formula for only one feeding at a time.

just looked up the bacterium that caused the infection because I had never heard of it. That's super scary and I am going to tell my family to make sure they boil my nieces formula when they feed her.
Scary my baby is on enfamil -- dang boobs why do you have to have IGT?!
Aww. So sad for that family, I couldn't imagine. I seriously hope it isn't the formula that caused it because I think that would really be scary for all those moms that have no choice but to use formula.
I do hope that for all those who don't follow the guidelines of formula feeding like they should, that this will give them pause to think it over & change how they use it.
