Nick Jr. Adding Programming For Moms

Sometime in late 2012, Nick Jr. will feature a special chunk of programming just for moms between 9pm and 1am. The programming would include talk shows, reality shows, docu-series, stand up comedy, hidden camera and game shows.
30 projects are lined up so far for the new programming.
Is this something you would watch? What types of shows would you want to see?

All I can think of is being a kid watching TV at night and then all of a sudden all the kids shows turned to adult shows around that time and how pissed off I was that even the TV thought I should go to bed. In that respect, this idea f-ing sucks. From an adult perspective, really awesome.
I changed my mind. They should just air rugrats all night.
I don't think its a good idea. Alot of people myself included rely on that channel for "restless" nights with the little ones. There aren't alot of channels out there w/ child friendly programming 24 hours a day. I would be pretty blown if they did that to the 9pm to 1am time slot. I don't think its a good idea : ( But that's just IMO.
I agree with those above me. Not a good idea. We have other channels, KWIM? In order to have Nick Jr in most markets (not just Nickelodeon) you have to have an upgraded package with a ton of other channels. There are already channels out there that are for women, moms, whatever. Lifetime, O, GSN, MTV if you want reality, you get my drift.
It's a bad call, NickJr.
I don't think it's THAT big of a deal, but... there are other channels for us parents.
When I was in preschool and I was home with my mom DURING THE DAY, I used to watch talk shows and soaps with her. I had my first exposure to Richard Simmons on The Rosie O'Donnell show when I was four. I just thought it was hilarious. I turned out absolutely fine. Moms today tend to be very overprotective and where is that getting us? Children rebelling and taking drugs, drinking, getting pregnant, etc. Parents should teach the dangers of these and not care so much what their children see on TV. It's a learning opportunity, especially if they're watching the show with you. You can explain what is right and wrong. Children start understanding that around 3-4.
If they are considering doing this, you can bet that they aren't making money for their sponsors during that time slot... probably because kids are in bed.
They don't have a responsibility or obligation to provide child-friendly programming at all hours of the day if it's not making them money.
I'm torn on the idea. I fall to sleep with Disney/ Nick on and I really don't like when they go to Nick @ Night, right now, so I really don't know how I would feel if there were silly shows like that on. It could be a good thing, I guess... but I know that I will definatly keep my tv on Disney at nights once that happens.
I think its wonderful. see kids? you have to go to bed now, the world is now readjusting to grown up world! hahaha
@suggestivetongue@xanga - I agree, go rugrats! :D
This is one of the few channels that I feel okay letting my little nieces watch when they come over. Sometimes my 17-month old niece wakes up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep; why shouldn't she be able to watch Kai-Lan or The Upside Down Show or whatever else is on until she falls asleep again? Adults have plenty of things to watch between nine pm and one am; can't the little ones have their own channels, too? There's already too much on other kids' channels that they shouldn't be watching, it'd be nice if there could just be a handful of channels kept purely G-rated 24-hours a day, just for them.
@raspberryjade@xanga - Exactly. When I was a kid, I knew it was bed time when Friends or Sinfeld came on. Parents don't have limits on children's bed times....
well, the adult programming started tonight. My 3 year old won't go to bed and wants to watch Team Umizoomi all evening long. He came to me in the adjoining room and told me something was wrong. I went in and there was some best mom friends show on. Thank God he got me then because the next show was about SEX after having kids!!! This is ridiculous!!! It was like it got turned to the pay channels! I don't care about your bottom line, but I CAN tell you, your channel WILL NOT be on in my house after 9pm! Thank God for DVR!
