  • The 5 Least Annoying Kids TV Shows

This is a guest post from Lindsay Blogs.

Yes, I’m one of those parents that allows my children to watch *gasp* television. There are many kids’ TV shows, though, that are painfully annoying and I cringe every time they come on the screen. The shows listed below are, in my opinion, the least annoying ones made for children.

    The Fresh Beat Band

I find myself constantly singing the songs from The Fresh Beat Band. Shout, Twist, Kiki and Marina are seriously talented and really know how to rock it out! Their music is super catchy and the show is generally just silliness. They teach kids about the musical instruments, the sounds they make, who plays them and what part they play in music.  I’m a little upset they replaced Marina with a new actress without consulting me, but I’ll let that slid. This time. If they replace Twist, there will be problems.

    Olivia

Honestly, Olivia cracks me up. She is full of spunk and just makes these comments that you would never expect out of a 6 and 3/4 year old. Not only that, but she is quite positive she can do anything. My favorite thing about her, though, is that even if she fails at what she’s attempting, she doesn’t pout, mope or otherwise teach my kids to be sore losers. That, my friends, is gold compared to that little bald jerk that whines about everything (if you’re a preschooler’s parent, you know who I’m talking about). Also, I find myself yelling, “OLIVIA BUM BUM BUM OLIVIA!” randomly throughout the day. My coworkers appreciate it.

    Dino Dan

The idea behind the show is simple….or not. Dan is a 10 year old kid who is a dinosaur chaser. The only thing is…nobody else can see the dinosaurs except Dan. It took me forever to figure that out. I thought that everyone else just turned around at the wrong moment and didn’t see the gigantic T-Rex walk away. I felt dumb. Whatever.

The purpose of the show is to teach kids about dinosaurs, but also teach them skills of deduction. Not tax deduction – common sense deduction. Watching Dan explain his hypothesis, gather evidence and finally prove his theories using scientific experiments is just plain cool. I’ve learned something new with each episode.

{Editor's Note} Are there any television shows that your children watch that are the least annoying? What about the most annoying?
