Where in the world did you get these? Sorry but most of them kids would not use. I should know considering I've sexted and sometimes still do with my boyfriend now. Kids keep it simple...this is complicated.

Keep in mind, there are still instant messaging programs and chat rooms, and just because your child may not be using these, doesn't mean an adult isn't either. It's easy for a kid to say, "What's that mean?" and get the answer.
It's just something to read through and know, for that 'just in case' situation.

Teens do use these codes. Some are a bit in-depth but they do exist and they are being used. I'm assuming that kids not using these codes are like the "don't send naked pictures of themselves" right? or before it was texting it was IM'ing with someone they met on the internet and didn't want to get in trouble for, or made plans to meet up with. Just because *YOU* haven't heard of them our used them in your correspondence does not mean they aren't being used. Hopefully, that just means that your doing something right and not having a reason to use these codes.

I think it's funny when these lists are circulated, because no one actually uses them. I would know, from firsthand experience. Nothing kills a sexting boner faster than having to ask what a jumble of acronyms means.
