  • Kool-Aid (Or Jell-O) Edible Play-Dough

This is a guest post from "Deal"icious Mom!

My 2 year old has decided that craft time equals snack time! I had to get creative since he is eating me out of house and home. These days craft time only lasts a couple seconds. Oh and yes before you ask me, I am feeding him! He is a bit picky when it come to REAL food but for some reasons crafts look good to him.

I decided to try out some edible Play Dough recipes so that we can enjoy craft time in peace!

My favorite edible play dough recipe is:

    Kool-Aid or Jell-o Play Dough

    1 cup flour
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup salt
    3 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 package Kool-Aid Mix OR Jell-o Mix (any flavor of unsweetened)
    1 tablespoon cooking oil

    Directions:

Mix dry ingredients together in a large saucepan. Slowly add water mixed with oil and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens to dough. Place on a heatproof service and knead until cool enough for children to handle. Dough will be the color of the Kool-Aid mix and will smell like the Kool-Aid mix. his dough can be stored in a tightly covered container for up to six months.

This recipe makes the most brilliant colors and the dough smells so yummy! My boys love it and it is so much cheaper hat the store brand! I think it is better quality too!
