  • Great Toddler Toys on My Wish List: Part 1

Fat Brain Toys Reptangles, $24.99 from Amazon

Christmas shopping in the summer? It's early for that, but for anyone on a budget with munchkins, it's great to start a wish list early and check off one to two toys a month in time for the holidays.

I was cruising around the internet and found some interesting toys, many of them eco-friendly that I know my kids are gonna get a lot of use out of and will be learning at the same time.

Here's a few favorite finds that are going on the wish list:

Gymnic / Hop Fantasy 18" Hop Ball, $27.99 from Amazon

Melissa & Doug Monster Bowling Game Plush, $24.99 from Amazon

Dado Building Cubes - Original by Fat Brain Toys, from Amazon

Jumbonetics Magnetic Construction Set, from Amazon $32.95

Made by Me! Spin ’n Spiral Doodler by Fisher-Price, $20.00

Fisher Price IMAGINEXT Submarine, $17.99 from Amazon

Seaside Sidekicks Sand Baking Set by Melissa and Doug, from Amazon $14.95

Do your kids have any of these toys? How do they like them?

Forget the kid. I want some of those toys for me!

Can I play with the fat brain toys rectangles now?

Doesn't this prove the point that we've gone way over board for holidays?  I remember my grandmother always came up with an entire room full of toys for Christmas, and then, all of a sudden, there was a Christmas without that many toys.  My brother and I looked at our parents and said, "Is that all?"  And, at what age do you stop buying so many gifts?  Because teens have different tastes.  By the time my kids were teens, I'd called a halt to the expectation of gifts, and they received two large boxes.  And one of the boxes had socks and underwear in it for the year.
