It's Mothers Day Again
For the past decade (I love being able to say that), Mr. Shann has made a tradition among friends to take the kids on a camp out in a remote location for the whole weekend with NO women.
They pack up and leave Friday after work and he has dinner ready for all who arrive. They set up camp and send me pictures on my cell phone. Last night Ethan was heating a piece of fried chicken on a skewer over the fire.
Mr. Shann has always said that he knows that the dad is the one out working the most. He is the one who misses many milestones because he is the provider and he thought what better way to celebrate his being a father than spend it with the people who made that title possible.
On the plus side it's one weekend a year that I have no children, no husband just no BODY to answer to. I have no one waiting for me to get home. I have no one I have to cook or clean up after but myself.
Although quiet and lonely at times, having the weekend alone to do whatever I want is kind of awesome, mostly because I dont usually do JACK and the highlight is me driving to Panda Express for dinner on Saturday night BY MYSELF.
I know, right?Last night after work, I went out to dinner and shopping with a friend and I bought Mr. Shann a picture for our music themed bedroom. I also bought 2 other wall treatments so I guess I'm gonna be crafty today and then tonight my girl is going to come over and have dinner with me.
We're gonna watch some movies online and have a sleep over. I bought some Godiva chocolate brownie mix and a bag of chocolate chips and I'm going to make cupcakes with homemade cream cheese icing for dessert.
Happy Mother's Father's Day!!!
