  • It's The Summer Already?

It's been a while since I've written a post directly relating to being an au-pair. Things have been crazy here lately. I'm now trying to balance working 10 hours with the kids, seeing a guy that lives two hours away from me who has a five-year-old child, and writing a novel/getting a career in writing set up.

    Things couldn't be more hectic.

And the summer holidays are getting closer and closer. The kids now finish in two weeks. In August I'll have been here a year and I can't believe the change in all four children. The twins it's been easy to see with the learning to crawl, walk and talk; but now I'm realising the change in Jack and Alana, too.

Alana has come leaps and bounds with reading, writing and math since starting school. And Jack will be starting school in September. I can't believe how much time just flies by. Everything feels like it was just yesterday, but it's not. The days and weeks just fly by and every day I spend with the children I learn something new or they amaze me in the smallest of ways.

    It's incredible.

I remember it been Christmas time. Now what the hell - it's the summer holidays! Where has the time gone?

I've only noticed the time flying by since I started working with children. Or is it that I've gone from a dull job where I did nothing, to a full-time, throwing myself in there job?

Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter.

Since you've had children have you noticed how fast time flies? Can you remember it been one moment and suddenly it's months later and you're wondering where the time has gone?
