My Feet Are Slowly Disappearing...
I went from barely looking pregnant to totally looking pregnant in what seems like days. In a flash, I've had to retire pretty much my entire wardrobe for the rest of the summer. I'm definitely not used to the belly and totally misjudge my movements lately (closing the refrigerator door and knocking it into me, etc). And yes, today I looked down and I can still see my toes, but my feet are definitely disappearing. So weird!
In acceptance of my changing size, I invested in some more cropped leggings as they have become such an essential piece for me. I just started the third trimester today, and am totally okay with going these next 12 weeks in sundresses, long tops and leggings. I'm refusing to buy maternity clothes still, only things that work for me now and possibly will still be usable after.
I think it's probably about time to take one of those baby belly pictures, especially for my family who I haven't seen this entire time (the one downside to living in Hawaii). Later, though. Later.
How did you cope with your changing body during pregnancy? Graciously or no?

As I am a week from my due date I am so ready to be done!!! I'm ready to not feel like a beached whale any longer!!
@stargazer_katie@xanga - hahaha hear that!! good luck!!
When I first started getting bigger, it was harder for me to cope with all the changes. I had an eating disorder for 3 years and pretty much have always had self esteem issues when it came to my body. I'm now just about 36 weeks along and I LOVE my baby body :) Once my son is born, I know I'll be able to get back into exercising, etc but for right now I'm just enjoying the miracle that my body is doing :)
i can sew, so i made all my maternity clothes....what i find truly comfy? jeans that i converted to maternity pants (cut off the waistband, sew the fly shut, add knit panel and elastic). pre-pregnancy stuff just doesn't work for my belly. it's all baby, all straight out in front, and baby is big! i measured about 2 weeks ahead of what i am.
just wait till your ankles start swelling!
@oscarthegrouch108@xanga - my feet are already killing me, noooooo! :P
@cazmatazz@xanga - look into shoes with good support and can be easily adjusted (ie: elastic/velcro straps, not laces). i just bought this pair :http://www.famousfootwear.com/Shopping/productdetails.aspx?catalog_name=web&pg=1019681&p=76814&CMP=OTC-Froogle&partnerid=Froogle&cpc=Froogle&campaign=Skechers%20Work&group=Athletics&cpckw=Womens%20Compulsions%20Black and they are working out pretty well for me. i can adjust them throughout the day without being bent over for a long time.
if you get swollen (which you will), elevate your feet above your heart and use a cold compress. it takes a while (especially if it's hot), but the swelling will go down.
