Staying Young Forever
Let me give you a hypothetical. Imagine you could stay young forever. You could stay in your prime. You would not grow old. You would not die.
But the one problem is everyone around you would continue to age.
Would you want to stay young forever?

Yes.
I can fuck over all my friends and enemies in their old age-- when they're infirm, rambling old fucks and I'm still young, virile, and resourceful.
Plus, I get to play with my great-grandkids. That's like playing with your grandkids but twice as cool.
If there were a lot of drugs.
I think I've already signed up for that plan...LOL I just celebrated my 27th birthday and am still getting asked if my parents are home on a regular basis. I also plan on living to be 100.
Forever though? I think I'd get bored. And annoyed. Can you imagine all that you'd learn in a few hundred years? You'd be so much more intelligent than anyone else around. Conversations would be near impossible without wanting to reach out and smack the person to whom you're speaking to for being such a dolt.
Also, your body might not age, but that doesn't say of anything injuries. (Yes; my knee is aching right now, why do you ask?) If you would not die, this does bring up some interesting possibilities of how would you want to live?
No, and this quote explains why:
"I'm old enough to know that a longer
life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of
the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of
watching everything you love turn to dust. If you live long enough,
Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you'll end up alone." - Tenth
Doctor (David Tennant)
And isolation is not the life I want to live.
If people found out about you, you'd be all over the news, scientists would want to poke at you, and life would be hard. Look at the characters in "Tuck Everlasting"--they can't stay in one place too long or people start to suspect things. Also, if you have kids, and they grow older, it would be too weird for them, and people would think you're their child, not the other way around.
no.
Uh yes? Just because I get to stay in my prime forever doesn't mean I will live forever. My body just doesn't get weaker. Although it would be a bit strange to live with my lover if he's aging and I'm not.
But meh. I'd go for it.
Not at all. After all your loved ones have passed, what would you live for?
After reading
Tuck Everlastingwhen I was 12, I've been more terrified of immortality than I am of death. I want to die. Not soon. I want to die when I'm 123, but still, I would rather die than live forever.
You know what would really suck in this scenario?
Getting sentenced to prison for life.
Living forever could become a curse.
For people like me who plan on being single for the span of my life, I don't think it would be that bad. There are lots of things that I would like to do because I love t have adventures, but I won't even attempt to do many of the things I dream of because I just don't have the time.
Hell no, I do NOT want to live eternally. All I ask for is to age gracefully. It's really not fair, because i feel that I am aging very quickly, more so that anyone else my age, more so that anyone should... =/
vampire dilemma?
There is an episode of the Twilight Zone where a man makes a deal with the devil so that he could live as long as he wanted. The man was no longer afraid of death or consequences, so he went thrill seeking. He quickly became bored with life and eventually ends up killing his wife. He calls the police to tell them because he thinks, "So what? They'll give a death sentence to a man who can't die?" He ends up getting a life imprisonment sentence.
I don't know. It's an interesting question, and I don't know how I feel about it.
yes
Watch too many Vampire series...
After reading Tuck Everlasting and Twilight immortality doesn't seem that great.
No,I don't want to be special(?) than anybody else. it recalls me this movie 'Death becomes her' with our famous actresses Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn.
no. that would be a curse to me instead.
i might enjoy myself for the next 10-20 years but once you see your siblings, mates and the ones you love all die before you, you will eventually crack.
tuck everlasing ~~
i would still opt to stay young if possible, although all the old geezers would probably conspire to murder me out of hate and jelousy.
