36 Weeks Along!
I seriously look at that picture and think, "How do I function with that thing?" Let me tell you - it's not easy. Haha. I'm going to really try not to make this entry totally whiny. But it's getting very very difficult.
This week has been the first time I haven't been able to sleep well, I have new back pain and all of a sudden my feet hurt like the dickens!
Even aside from being sore, I'm getting really ready to meet her. I have had almost 2 weeks off of work, so I've gotten a lot accomplished. My hospital bags are packed, I figured out the insurance situation, got Lucy a doctor, and we made some major headway on the nursery. I washed all her clothes, organized everything, picked out her coming home outfit(s), and ordered her carseat.
I even bought a nursing bra and a couple of nursing tanks - they crack me up! I've never seen how they work before. One word: peekaboo!
. One of my good friends just had her baby yesterday and I'm sooooo jealous!
Sometimes I forget that this big ole belly is holding a real, live baby. I am soooo ready to see and hold her!
I have to go back to work on Tuesday and I honestly don't know how I'm going to do it. The past 2 days, I've worked 5 hour shifts at the dollar store and it kills me! I don't know how I'm going to get up at 6 every morning and corrall 2 rambunctious kids all day. I'm praying I go into labor early just so I don't have to work for 4 more weeks! If we weren't so desperate for the money, I'd start my maternity leave immediately. Stupid money.
How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight loss/gain: The wii says I gained 3 pounds, but I just ate so I don't believe it.
Maternity clothes? Yes.
Sleep: Horrible. It takes me forever to get comfortable enough to fall asleep, I sleep ok for about 4 hours, then I wake up sweating like a hog and in agonizing pain to start the process all over again. I actually got up at 4:00 this morning to sit in my massage chair because my back hurt so bad. It feels like my ribs are being pried apart.
Best moment this week: Having a few days off to sleep in and get stuff done!
Movement: Nearly constant. Just today I noticed her a lot lower and I feel a lot of pressure in my pelvis. I don't really look like I've dropped, so I'm wondering if maybe she's getting her head in position?
Food cravings: PB Cap'n Crunch, chocolate donut holes, lemonade
Food aversions: None.
Gender: GIRL!!!!
Labor Signs: LOTS of Braxton Hicks this week.
Belly Button in or out? Out like a fat kid in dodgeball
What I miss: Being comfortable, having a waist, sleeping on my stomach.
What I am looking forward to: My last two showers this week, putting the finishing touches on the nursery, and most of all - meeting my baby!
Milestones: More stretchmarks appeared this week - this time right around my belly button. They're pretty gross looking and I'm just crossing my fingers that somehow I can make it through the next four weeks without any more!
How did you feel at 36 weeks?

I didn't even get stretch marks. I had terrible back pain though. I didn't know, but I was in labor. Haha. I gave birth at 36 weeks and 6 days.
With my daughter I was so thirsty I thought I was gonna die. Find out I had low amnotic fluid, gave birth at 37 weeks.
I'll never make it past 37 weeks, I swear. lol.
I didn't make it to 36 weeks, but at 32 weeks I felt like shit. I thought I was going to die.
Oh man, those last few weeks are the worst. I feel your pain! My baby girl turned two weeks old yesterday, it's amazing how quickly time goes AFTER you have the baby when it goes so slowly right before.
I was so restless and impatient at 36 weeks, I was so excited to meet her as well and that just made everything even worse because I just wanted the next four weeks to hurry up and get over with, lol. I ended up being three weeks late though, due to my doctor refusing to induce me and a date confusion. *sigh* I'm just glad that it's all over now and that I can hold my baby girl all I want now! :) There is nothing better than cuddling with her and she has definitely made everything that I hated about pregnancy, labor (all 26 hours of it), and delivery worth it.
With my first, 36 weeks was bliss. She was tiny, so carrying her wasn't very uncomfortable and the morning sickness was finally letting up. I delivered her a week later. Second baby, SO MISERABLE by 36 weeks. He was a good 2 pounds heavier and I thought I was going to DIE. I had him on my due date, so there was at least a month of pure misery. I'm 30 weeks along with this pregnancy and it looks like it's going to be just like the last one. Two weeks ago I was already feeling miserable, but then he shifted and I'm feeling a lot better now.
I was soo impatient, uncomfortable and angry at men lol. Just relax as much as you can.
You're doing great, Mama! Be patient for your little girl. That's my best advice ever. Be patient and wait for her. If there's one thing I could undo in my whole life it was inducing my first child.
Be patient and lovingly wait for your baby girl to say she's ready to let go. :) You're doing great!
For my size, my baby was really big and I was excited, but miserable towards the end.
For sleeping, have you tried changing it up? I remember that towards the end of my pregnancy I could not sleep for very long in the same position (plus my feet would swell so much when I did no have them propped as high as possible). I would sleep for a few hours in my bed, a few hours on the couch in the living room, and then for a few hours more in this recliner-like chair. It was not great, but I was able to get some okay sleep.
I also got stretchmarks on my belly around this time...around my belly button also.
Well I can honestly say that I was only miserable the frist six months. But that was only because I couldn't keep a thing down. After that it was smooth sailing. But one piece of advice, DON't let them break your water if you don't have too. When I went into labor I was in so much pain that I completly forgot what my lamas teacher told me about if they break your water the labor pains are like a roller coaster and hurt twice as much. Not trying to worry you but try to keep that in mind LOL. Also make sure that they ask you to be cut before you start pushing. That was one thing that I was pissed about. My doctor that was delivering the baby didn't cut me before I started pushing so when my son came out he just let me tear, luckly it wasn't that bad. Sitll pissed me off though.
Don't know if you knew this but a great thing that gets rid of strech marks that I used all the way through my pregnancy was udderly smooth. Weird name great product. You can get it at Walmart. The great thing about this stuff is that you can even use it on your left over strech marks and it'll get rid of them.
Congrats! You'll love being a mother
I remember going to a wedding at 37 weeks and trying to paint my toenails. What an awful experience! I also thought my water broke during the church service, but I guess I was just so sweaty down there that there was some water. It was nuts.
But, just think, you're in the home stretch and it's almost done. You're little girl will be here before you know it!
Wow. I'm a week behind you and my belly is about half that size. I've been told that I'm pretty small, but the baby is a healthy weight. My belly button hasn't even popped! As for cravings, I've been craving ice a ton this week. I can usually get to sleep alright, but when I wake up, everything hurts so much it's hard to pull myself out of bed. I am miserable, and I'm ready to meet my son already! Lol.
You look so adorable!!! I'm 30 weeks and feeling better than I have most of the pregnancy (thank God for little favors). This is my third child, first boy and las pregnancy. It sometimes hits me too that there is a new little baby in that big ole tummy of mine. And I can't help but smile and look forward to meeting him. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!!
Beyond moisture fr stretch marks (drinking lots of water, rubbing on lotion), make sure you are getting enough zinc. It helps immensely. If nothing else with the healing of them, but also the prevention. Water, and zinc. :)
