  • Hands Off My Chocolate!

    Guest Post by MommyWizdom

Lately, my house has been riddled with chocolate.  Mainly because it is everywhere I go and I haven't had much restraint lately.  In the evening, after the kids are in bed and I'm on the computer, I like to sneak a couple of pieces of chocolate while I work.  I must have left one on the counter, though, because in the morning BG stomped right up the stairs with a triumphant announcement.

"Look what a found?"  She bellowed, louder than anything should be that early in the morning.  Instantly, Buddy took note of what was in her hand.  It was a little green wrapped, piece of chocolate.

Buddy stood right up and said, "Chocolate!!"

To which I said, "NO!  There is no chocolate for breakfast."

Well, I must've burst that little boy's bubble, because he turned around, marched right over to the offending naysayer, me, and slapped me across the face as hard as his little hand could muster.

For a second, I struggled between busting out in laughter and maintaining a stern face.  Had I just gotten bitch-slapped by a two-year-old over chocolate at seven in the morning??!

I managed to stay stern, I don't know how, and I gently swatted him on his very diapered tush admonishing his behavior.  "We don't hit mommy this early in the morning when she's not yet awake enough to control laughter!," I said!

As if adding insult to injury, he did not take it well.  He started crying as if I had just killed his favorite puppy!

I certainly learned my lesson that day.  Never get between my two-year-old and his chocolate!

Have any of your children ever hit you?  If so how did you react?
