Seal Adopts Heidi Klum's Daughter Leni
Guest post from Baby Bump Blog
Seal recently announced that he has officially adopted wife Heidi Klum's daughter Leni from a previous relationship with Flavio Briatore, who Seal says "was a gentleman about the whole thing." The couple's reason behind their adoption decision was to find a way for Leni to share the same last name as the rest of her family. MyRegistry.com would like to congratulate Seal and Heidi on this exciting news!
Do you have an inspiring adoption story? Were you or someone you know adopted by a step parent?

Good for them :]
My daughter, age 4.5, is currently being adopted by my husband (her stepdad). He has been her daddy since she was 7 months old, and is the only father she has ever known :) We're very excited, as this has been a long road for our family and we want her to legally have the same last name as my huband, myself, and her baby sister!
I think its great..
But then I think adoption is pretty great too.
I was adopted at birth, raised by an amazing family, adopted into the Family of God at 9 (aka became a Christian but I love the Biblical view of adoption), found my bio-mom at 19, married my hubby and became a foster mama at 26 (married earlier then that) and hopefully will be an adoptive mama before I'm 30.
so adoption is all through our lives..
I'm actually alittle surprised that he hasnt already adopted her. Good for them, they are a cute family!
My husband's stepfather adopted him and his sister. To my husband, just having his name changed wasn't enough, so when he was 18 he got a tattoo that incorporated his new last name :) I still find it amusing that they refer to his biological father as "the sperm donor." (I actually didn't know his real name until I was pregnant with our first and we were discussing baby names.)
Well Seal is a great guy, so I think this is just so telling of him :) Heidi is very lucky haha.
My grandfather adopted his wife's two children (her first husband was killed in the Korean War.) In fact, I didn't know that until I was a teenager. (They had four more children together, including my dad.)
My wife...wasn't adopted by her stepfather. It still bothers her.
It is always nice when step-dads want to adopt their step-children. My step-dad (I call him dad) wanted t adopt me but I didn't want to have a dif last name from my adopted sister and half-brother. Looking back I wish I had let him adopt me!
@songbird27@xanga - I refer to my daughter's bio dad as her "sperm donor", too. Too funny.
He's so cool..
That's so sweet of him! My current boyfriend says that when we get married, he wants to adopt my daughter. I think its the greatest thing a REAL man can do for someone!!!!
That's a sick camera!
