Weird Product of the Week: Personal "Bomb Shelter" for Baby
I love finding all of the latest interesting and unique baby products that keep showing up on the market these days. Well, someone just brought this extremely strange and rather creepy product to my attention and I just had to share it with all of you Momaroo readers out there!
The product is called the Smart Baby Case. It's designed to protect your baby from a disastrous event such as one brought on by chemical warfare. Think of it as an individual high-tech bomb shelter for baby. I don’t know what is more frightening, the fact that someone took the time to invent something like this or that this kind of product is potentially needed!
Some of the rather uh, odd features of this product are as follows:
- Liquid-filled padding to keep baby’s head comfy.
- Auto-rocking unit to keep baby happy.
- An LED screen that monitors the air quality inside this crazy contraption.
- And the weirdest, most disgusting of all, an auto-diaper whose tubes can suck away baby’s waste.

geez.. when aliens invade earth... or when 2012 comes....... i hope i'm not struggling with the manual book, trying to get my baby in so we can make a run for it lol.
LOL i'd buy one. it looks like superman's capsule, HAHAHAHA.... didn't anyone else think it looked kind of like it? anyways wouldn't this be great if it was regular adult size? i'd buy one. 2012... dun dun dunn..
@lot223@xanga - adult size.
so who's gonna carry you around in it?
the whole point is for hte baby to go in and the mom runs with it lol.
An auto diaper? That's not disgusting. That's fantastic! :D
But seriously, I do find it strange this sort of thing was invented at all. But if ever we need it, let's hope there are people around soon enough to take care of the baby and feed and love it. I don't see a feeding contraption on that thing. And social interaction is essential to a baby's survival as well.
@Joanna_said_SO@xanga - Ah. That makes more sense. Who would leave a baby alone? :D . Man, I need to stop working so much.
I don't think I understand. Say there is some horrible, disastrous event and I put my infant in this "pod", wouldn't I still die? I mean, since I don't have anything protecting me, even if I was running or whatever. If it was really necessary then all I can imagine is that I would be dead and my baby would be alive, stuck in this thing. Who would get the baby out? Weird.
wow. I have mixed feelings on this.
does it come in blue?
This product might actually come into good use one day. While it's a weird invention, it's a potential convenient one.
I love all of your comments, hilarious!
@Daisy86162@xanga - My thoughts exactly.
And, frankly, would the guys in biohazard suits stepping over my body know what in the world that was if they did get there in time? "Dude...this chic had a goofy suit case... Oh, look there's chocolate and vodka on top of the fridge! Score! Let's go!"
read NASA wedsites. 2012 is a crock.
what happens if the mom dies and the baby is stuck in it?!?!
that is crazy. how do you feed the baby?
I find it interesting that it was designed by an Iranian...
But anyways, if there was a chemical weapon or some such catastrophe, what good is it if mom and dad die while baby is inside this pod? That would be a slow painful death for baby
What if the baby is the last human being on earth? It'll have no way to get out. Maybe if we evolved a little faster...
@firetyger@xanga - Mommy and daddy just have to have chemical protection gear of their own. I doubt they make those suits in baby appropriate sizes.
@mrcolorful@xanga - Maybe they'll design bigger pods and we'll all be rollin' around in those things
Though that would be really, really weird.
@firetyger@xanga - Hey, I'd buy one! Doesn't discount the weirdness any though.
@Joanna_said_SO@xanga - I can't speak for others, but I know for MYSELF, I would not be able to run and carry that strange contraption.
I can't run and carry a car seat, there's no way i could run and carry THAT.
Also, my main concern is how FAST babies grow.
sure buy it now but your baby will out grow it in a month
