That Elmo Piano building kit that Jessica has is creepy!
Organic baby carrier?!? Baby Einstein Gym? That product made me laugh because kids under 3 months of age can barely make out colors!!! They can only see in black and white for some time! What a joke. Then again, Baby Einstein is also a joke.
@feelslikejuly@xanga - why is baby einstein a joke? I'm curious now...i've bought a few baby einstein products as gifts but I had no idea they had negative feedback.
@DameUnBeso06@xanga - @feelslikejuly@xanga - Baby Einstein itself isn't really a joke, it's just been determined that the videos and DVDs are pointless because babies really shouldn't be watching TV at that age. Their toys and music and such are fine though. My babies both loved their Baby Einstein Activity Gym (same one as the picture)...it only lasted them until they could roll over (then there was no keeping them on a mat) but from 1-3 months it was a good toy to have.
@averyswife@xanga - that's a good point. I dont think any toddler or child in general should be exposed to excessive amounts of tv. I guess many parents think bc its educational, its ok to sit the baby in front of it for long periods of time. But I mean, if mom just needs 15 mins of peace and quiet or she wants to take a shower alone, I dont see a problem with the dvd's. Thanks for letting me know, I would feel awful if there was some harmful content or something unsafe for kids in those products and I was the one giving them away as shower gifts! LOL
@feelslikejuly@xanga - well that's true, babies under 3 mos cant really see or distinguish colors. But being exposed to colors is good for their brain. Just like when we talk to very small babies, they dont know what we're saying to them, or understand the words when we read them a story, but exposure to language is great for babies.
LOL, that's my stroller! And I didn't even know I was "hip." Just thought we were practical. *smiles*
