Sesame Street is 40!

Sesame Street is 40!
Reading in one of the local papers and checking Wikipedia, it turns out Sesame Street turns 40 today, November 10. Google also gives reference to the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

I remember watching some of Sesame Street in the UK on television when I was younger, but don't really remember much about it apart from the theme song.
Did you ever watch Sesame Street when you were younger? Do your kids watch Sesame Street? Who were your favorite (or your child's favorite) characters and members on the show?

I watched it when I was young...my son, now 2 years old, watched it every day...sometimes 2 times a day. I still love it. I will sit and watch it with him. Loved all the google references for the past week or so.

I watched it when I was younger as well...everytime I went to google the past week, it made me happy to see the home page, i don't have kids yet but i'm sure they will enjoy sesame street too

Sesame Street is definitely one of the all time best kids shows! Not only did we watch the show, we had records and tapes that had books to go with them of Sesame Street stories. It was awesome!

I cant believe it is so old though!

Happy Birthday Sesame Street! I loved all the characters growing up, but my favorites had to be big bird, cookie monster, elmo, bert and ernie. My daughter isn't as excited about them as I use to be, but she'll watch it on occassion.
