The baby is on the way, work is hectic, tons of things to do before your little one arrives...
We think all moms to be (and their partners) should take a break and get away for some R&R before the midnight feedings and diaper changes commence. Babymoons (baby + honeymoon) are becoming increasingly popular, as they're probably the last adult-only vacay couples take for a long time to come. According to
Parents Magazine, here's a list of their suggested fabulous babymoon destinations:
1. Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key, Florida
2. The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach, California
3. The Tides South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida
4.The Inn on Charlotte in St. Augustine, Florida
5. The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego, California
6. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Orlando, Florida

7. Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito, California
Did you take a babymoon before your bundle of joy arrived? Where would you suggest going for a babymoon?

i'm going to maui this saturday for a week for my babymoon. i can't wait!
I think if I ever get pregnant, I might do this. Just depends. But all of those hotels look so nice! :)
We stayed at a bed and breakfast in Monterey, CA.
Hey, I went to the Hyatt Regency in San Diego for my "honeymoon" with 2 of our kids lol, not much of a honeymoon.
As for a babymoon.. we did run up to Flagstaff, AZ (at the time we lived in Phoenix) before our last baby was born.Tahiti FOR SURE! But we settled for Hawaii last time! LOL
Wow, I love that idea!! But it'll never happen, lol. My baby is due in March and we're way too swamped. :(
Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, MA (Martha's Vineyard).
Oh I wish... I was barely able to walk, let alone travel! That, and the lack of funds meant the last trip we took was to my in-laws in Germany (we live in the Netherlands - it's about a 4 hour drive). Not much one-on-one time there, either. *sigh*
Maybe next time, though!
We actually just drove a few hours to a nice B & B in the Wisconsin Dells. I was about 4 months pregnant and it was a nice relaxing trip with the hubby. There was a lot of cuddling, laughing, love making and fudge purchasing.
And I got a fantastic prenatal massage!
I've been avoiding commenting on this because I know this is supposed to be a light, happy thread but I just can't stop thinking about this. "Babymoon" used to be a term used by Waldorfy, natural childhood types to celebrate the birth of the baby and the unique, special time of cocooning and family bonding right after a new baby is born.
The fact that the term has been co-opted and distorted as a means to make money (and with the not too subtle implication that you better have a life while you can because a baby will end your freedom) is a sad, pathetic commentary on our society and how we view having children. Bleh.
This has to be Americas consumerist spin on something traditionally meant to be functional.. A babymoon is supposed to be the time you spend WITH your baby ((( Roll eyes))).

I wished I did that for my honeymoon. Stayed home and put up a don't disturb sign up. I agree babymoon is time for the new family to bond. Helpers should help with that, wash laundry, bring dinner, etc.
I would like to go to sleep. lol Though I would love to go somewhere before New Baby is born, in reality, I would just like a few nights of peaceful rest. Be it at home or somewhere else. lol
