Still Pregnant and Pregant Again?

I don't know if this is even possible but Allah (SWT) works in ways we can't comprehend. I found this on MSN News about the woman who "claims" to have concieved while pregnant. Here's an excerpt:
"Julia Grovenburg is due to give birth in December -- and in January. The Arkansas resident says she is carrying two fetuses conceived 2.5 weeks apart. She's not the first woman to say she has conceived though already pregnant -- a phenomenon called superfetation." Source: (JG pregnant).

“You can have sex usually with wild abandon and not worry about getting pregnant a second time. Normal sex throughout a pregnancy is not an issue,” NBC chief medical correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Monday in New York. “The chances of getting pregnant [again], even early on, are infinitesimally small.”
Snyderman’s medical opinion is shared by other doctors and obstetricians, who are skeptical that Julia Grovenburg of Fort Smith, Ark., is carrying two babies conceived 2½ weeks apart — which would be an example of an extremely rare phenomenon called superfetation. Far more probable, they say, is that she is carrying twins who are growing at different rates."

Like I said I have no idea if this is true or not but if it is then Subhanna Allah! This proves the miraculous work of Allah Almighty. If it isn't then this woman must just be saying this for fame but no one knows except Allah Almighty if this is true or not. *Click on the above links for both stories*.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this woman faking it or is she telling the truth? Anyone experience something like this before?

From what I read, if you have a long period of ovulation and it takes a while for the first egg to implant, it's possible to have a second egg fertilized. It's not like she got pregnant when she already was 2 months along or anything...it's was only a 2-week difference.

When I was a kid I knew a set of twin sisters who were 5 months apart. Mom never would tell me how that could be. At 6 I knew it took 9 whole months to have a baby.

My mother-in-law is friends with this lady. I don't think it's fair to say that she's saying this only for fame. It might not be probable, but it is possible. I know several situations where a woman gives birth to twins and they have two different fathers. DNA supports this.. wouldn't it then be possible for those two eggs to have been fertilized a few days or weeks apart? I think so. I think it's kinda neat, actually. Maybe she isn't 100% sure what is going on. I just don't think it's my place to judge her as a liar or in it for the attention she's getting. :)

My grandma went through this. She was pregnant with my uncle and a month later she got pregnant again with a girl. She went into premature labor and gave birth at 7 months, my uncle survived but his sister only lived for 2 days, she was only 6 months gestation, and dont forget that this was 1955. My grandpa was a doctor and they validated the whole thing, so when this story came out I didnt get all into the hype the media is making, to me its rare but it is possible.

yes it does happen. its about a 1 in 1 billion chance but it does happen. occasionally the hormones of the woman don't change as they should when they become pregnant right away, this means another egg can be realeased and can mean another conception. amazing isn't it?

Yep, totally possible. A friend of mine's triplets were conceived this way. The first 2 were conceived at one time and the third child was conceived approximately 2 weeks later. They know this for sure because she was undergoing IVF so she was getting constant ultrasounds. For weeks it was twins, twins, twins, what the heck is that!, triplets, lol! Throughout the pregnancy she consistently measured 2 weeks behind her siblings which is consistent with the timing of when they spotted her on u/s.

my aunt's "twins" are this way, one was conceived a couple weeks later in the month than the other. i didn't find out until recently and my mind was just blown.

I don't know if she's faking or not. But, really, since there is such a possibility, it could be true. *shrug* You can't just say it isn't true because you don't want to believe it. There is a name of the occurrence of this, and even the doctors who say they are skeptical and don't believe it is true say that this IS possible. Just because it is unlikely does not make it untrue.
But, anyway, there is no reason to really care. :p I don't see what the fascination is, especially among people who don't believe she's telling the truth or who believe she's just an idiot who has convinced herself of something impossible.

i doubt she is lying about this. who would lie about getting pregnant again while being pregnant if the ultrasound shows the evidence? but i guess anything is possible these days! its just rare as a muther

I know someone who had feternal friends that had 2 diffrent fathers. The doctor told her that she must have had multiple eggs released and since she "got around" there were multiple sprem from multiple men compeating for the multiple eggs.

This happens in animals a lot too.
