  • The First Kiss

    Mama Bee by Mama Bee

Her hair was put in pigtails and her naturally curly hair was laid in ringlets over her ears. She wore a yellow dress that matched perfectly with her yellow ribbon that held her hair in place. Her white dress shoes showed her newly painted red toenails.

He wore a t-shirt that said "I Rock" and walked around the store without shoes and in shorts that bared witness to the color of popsical he was eating. His hair was tossled and the color resembled that of her light brown hair. His eyes blue though hers were bluer. He's handsome, I’ll give him that.

The orange dripped down his arm as he continued to suck endlessly on his popsical and in the other hand was an Old Navy football, green and white.

"Hi," she says as she says to anyone and everyone that will listen.

"Hi," his reply almost scared her.

He drops the football and walks over to her. She steps back and grabs my leg. After a moment, she starts to tell him of the new clothes she’s gotten and how her brothers are starting school soon. He just says a word here and there. She’s been speaking full sentences since she was a year old; her adult conversation is intriguing to him and his mother, who is standing to his left.

It’s silent and they are looking at one another much like the scene in Lady and the Tramp just without the spaghetti and the fact that they aren’t dogs. The mom and I continue speaking and then.....

He leans in, she leans in and....

They kiss. Right smack on the lips.

My baby girl had her first kiss with a boy, who might I add was older (by 3 months), in the middle of Old Navy today.

Gettin' them boys already and she's only two. Daddy better start cleanin’ the gun!

    • About Me: Hi, I'm Mama Bee. I'm from Colorado and I've lived here my entire life. I'm happily married to the most amazing guy and have been for going on 3 years. I am a stay at home mom with 2 step sons that live with my husband and I full time. C is 6 and J is 5. My husband, Daddy Bee, and I have a daughter together. K is 15 months and is a miracle baby. I would like to have another baby but due to some health issues I've been told I may not be able to. I believe that is why God gave me my daughter and our boys. My family has and will always come first. Marriage and motherhood are hard, but the most rewarding things I've ever been able to experience in my life. We have our ups and downs, we're not perfect but we try, we live, and we learn. We laugh when things get hard and we are thankful when things are easy. With 3 kids our life never seems boring. I look forward to sharing my family with you!
