One thing a lot of expecting mothers are sporting are Maternity Bands! What are these? (They sound a bit intense, right?) Well, apparently they are the reason you will be fitting into your favorite pants during most of your first trimester and maybe even some of your second. Simply keep them unbuttoned and then wrap on your belly band so they stay secure and on.
Aside from the fact that they make use of pre-maternity clothes, they also come in fun and wardrobe complimenting styles.

i know someone who has a black one of these. i was wondering what it is. now i know :)
Yeah, belly bands rock! I wore them a lot during my pregnancies.
I loved my belly band. it made my pregnancy clothing hunt so much easier.
I also did the rubber band thing with my jeans up until I didn't care how I looked anymore. So many of my friends were jealous that I had a basketball under my shirt & could still fit my size 3 jeans (with some help from the rubber bands) =DI loved mine! All the maternity jeans I ever bought were too big in the thighs and hips, so belly bands were all I used during my pregnancies.
I used the rubber band thing all the way through my first pregnancy and plan to do the same this time, I'm 19 weeks and still do. Hair ties are a lot more comfortable btw.
Hah, cool
i used the rubber band up until 5 months, then i bought bigger sized regular jeans.
i didn't buy maternity pants until my 8th month.
i think i'll try these next time though.
i'm due in 4 weeks and i still wear my younger sister's pants to work...
they're low cut, so it doesn't really bother my belly at all. i've only gone from 145lbs to 167lbs though, and it's all belly and boob...
there are a ton of pregnant girls at work due after i am and they all tell me they hate me though, cause i'm still so small and they're all bigger than me...

Those are cute! I've never used them before though. I always wore my normal pants until they got too small then I would wear maternity pants. They're really comfortable and usually by then I don't really care how I look. I might try a maternity band when I get pregnant again though!
These are cute but a little high priced. I wonder if a non-maternity tube top that would fit snugly around the waist would do the same thing. My local beauty supply has them for like $5 and they are suuuuper stretchy. Or even just taking a piece of stretchy fabric, sewing a seam and a hem, and there ya go! I cant see myself paying $28 for the ones listed above.
I know they're not necessarily cheap but I thought the B Buckle thing was cool too. http://www.mybbuckles.com/index.html
there are cheaper ones than that, i got mine from target for $10 i think. I loved them. I started wearing maternity clothes in late second trimester.
I got mine at Motherhood Maternity.. I am 20 weeks and it would still work now, but I felt like my pants didn't fit right when they were unbuttoned/unzipped/rubber banded. I much prefer the "real waist" Old Navy maternity jeans.. they look like toddler pants, but I'm not a fan of the blue elastic band and these are just straight up jeans! I got them at 18 weeks.
I love them! I had 2 - one black and one white. I never wore maternity pants! I wore my jeans up until I was like 38 weeks along! Love it!!!
those are adorable! makes me want to be pregnant...haha
If I got pregnant, I'd just buy solid color ones or the first one. The other ones aren't that cute haha. But very good idea!
@DameUnBeso06@xanga - You can get them waay cheaper than that on eBay. I just bought a whole pile of them from a lady who makes custom maternity & nursing clothes, and they came to about $6 each! I love them!
I got some that fit now (8 mo. pregnant), and some in the next smaller size to use for compression bands after the baby comes.
Woah. I already wore my usualy pants for all but the last two months of pregnancy, if that. I couldn't find a single pair of maternity pants that would stay ON me without some kind of suspender system. I didn't have hips before I got pregnant, they got eaten by baby when I was pregnant, only now do they show up to stretch out pants after the baby. Grrrr...
I want one or two of these next time i'm pregnant. But as for wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes longer...i dont' see a point. If I'm going to buy maternity clothes anyway why enjoy the new wardrobe longer? I'd use them as ADDING to a wardrobe, but not to keep myself from needing it. I love all my maternity clothes and sometimes wish I could just wear them without being pregnant. :)
I started wearing maternity pants at 6 weeks. I was so sick that I couldn't handle anything tight on my stomach and maternity pants worked out well for that.
