  • How different are your children's personalities?

I have two young girl cousins who are sisters, but they are nothing alike. One is on the extreme side of girly and the other is pure tomboy through and through.

The older one is as girly as you can get! She loves all things pink and at the ripe old age of 7, she is always trying to wear her mother's high heel shoes (her mom is only about 4'9 inches so she's pretty small). She hates to get dirty and would never walk barefoot. She loves dresses and having her hair curled and is always getting into our make up.

Her little sister on the other hand, loathes wearing dresses. If her mom puts a dress on her, she'll immediately go and put pants on underneath. She loves running around barefoot, climbing things, and loves super hero toys. For her birthdays, I realized that she didn't like the pink girly toys that our family would buy for her so one year I bought her a spiderman figurine and she loved it so much she went upstairs and hid it and told me it was because she didn't want anyone else to play with it.

Children definitely have such a big personality differences whether they're in the same household or not. Are your children's personalities different or quite similar?

Im an only child but my half brothers are a lot different than I, obviously. They like skateboarding and stuff and I like ... well being an internet whore.

My son and daughter are like day and night.  My son was a quiet baby, and hardly cried.  My daughter on the other hand was a bit more "vocal".  They are older now, but still very different!  I'm glad my son came first to ease me into motherhood. =)

I can't tell you the difference in my baby's personalites. One is still in my tummy. But lemme tell you..I sure can tell you teh difference in pregnancies. The first one, I didn't have any kind of sickness at all. With this one everything smells horrible!

don't know yet, but I am not expecting them to be clones when I do have another child.

You described my children. I have one who was a girly girl until her teens. (Now she's goth and into karate.) She is sensitive and perceptive and love to argue philosophy with adults. The other girl was the boy I didn't have. She never wanted to wear a dress, or slow down. She has no time for talk. She hated Barbies, but loves Hot Wheels, video games, and proving how tough she is. Ironically, as she enters her teens, she has started fussing with her hair and pays more attention to her clothes.

They are physically dissimilar, too. The elder one inherited her size from my Teutonic ancestors, while the younger looks like a fine-boned elf.

Me and my sister have a 12 year age gap, and we are total opposites. I'm a tomboy and i'm very outgoing and energetic, while my sister is very much a girly-girl and likes to go get her hair and nails done and mostly keeps to herself.

@hiiiilaura@xanga - Are your friends girly girls or tomboys? You can't all be internet whores.

@hiiiilaura@xanga - How Rude!!! Welcome to Xanga I was reading a few of your comments and thought you were funny and you might have something worth reading. The more friends you have, the more comments you get the more points you collect to becoming a full Xangan but now I see your just a rude child.

C is artsy...likes drawing, dancing and wants to learn keyboard. M is a little hot head that like to be as difficult as possible. Megan is still small (9 months), but she's definitely more peaceful than the boys were as babies. They're all very much individuals.
