I homeschool now so we have tons of crafts and projects to do, but even before that my kids were at the craft table at least once a day!

We do arts and crafts. Many arts and crafts stores may offer classes for children. Check with your local stores in your area. These classes can give you lots of ideas. Also, look into some books that give you step by step instructions with pictures. Also, your local library may offer classes for arts and crafts for children.
