I've been in the USA for the majority of my life, since the age of two. When I was seven we went back to Mexico to a city named Hermosillo in the state of Sonora. It's one of the bigger cities and it is also the state capital. We lived there for a couple of years and then came back to the states.
I was young, but during those two years I was able to recognize the extreme amount of corruption in the Mexican government and authorities. I vividly remember watching on TV when a presidential candidate, who actually stood for the Mexican people, was shot point blank in the head as he walked through the town shaking people's hands. Every one knew it was arranged by the government. It was obvious.
Right after that, we left and never looked back, but it's sad to see that things haven't changed.
On June 5th, 2009 at around 3pm, a government owned daycare, with nearly 150 kids under the age of 5, went ablaze as the warehouse behind it exploded. With no emergency exits and not enough adults to carry the young children outside safely, 31 children died and 25 more were injured.
This was more than an unfortunate accident. This was neglect from the authorities in charge of "inspecting" the facilities in order to provide a safe environment for the children in their care. The odd thing is that it was recently discovered that a co-sponsor for the daycare is a relative of the wife of the state governor. Maybe that was the reason the "rules" were bypassed for this particular facility, or do they just pretend to "inspect" and really just collect some money to keep their mouths shut about the inadequacy of the buildings.
When the first lady was questioned about the relationship between her and the co-sponsor of the daycare, she admitted to having a great-grandfather in common, but denied knowing her personally. Soon after, a local newspaper proved she was lying by publishing some recent pictures of the two ladies together at another family member's birthday party.
47 children have died so far and still, no one has been formally charged. 47 little angels in heaven who may never get the justice they deserve, because of a corrupt and incompetent government. The Mexican people are on fire, demanding answers and justice, but anyone who dares to speak too loudly will probably end up dead or badly hurt, so it isn't likely that anyone will come forward with information leading to a possible arrest.
Please pray for the families of these innocent little beings. We know the children are in a better place, but the families need peace and justice.

So, so terrible! I can't imagine being there, in that situation! I'll be praying for those injured children, their parents and the families of the children who died! This makes me ache inside.

All government is corrupt, some more so than others and this is a prime example. Unfortunately enough, it seems that these children have suffered more than what we currently think. These children didn't just die once, they died a second time when they were not avenged, and they even died a third time when the media made a profit off of the situation and made it home entertainment.

This is heartbreaking. I visited Mexico City when I was a sophomore in high school, and we were told by our Spanish teacher to take extra money for bribeing. She also taught us how to say "leave me alone!", "Stop that now!", "Help me!" and "I'll call the police!" But the last one was only to be used in extreme emergencies as the police were likely just as crooked as the people we were defending ourselves too.
Those poor children and their families.
i work in a day care, and i can't even imagine. my prayers are with the families.
My heart and prayers go out to those who suffered from this tragedy. Precious lives were lost and others irreparably damaged through corruption and neglect. When a government is not accountable to its people, it ceases to be a government and becomes simply a tyranny. I believe that God metes justice. I pray that His justice will also bring swift change to such a troubled nation.

where i live, mexicans seem really patriotic of mexico. what confuses me is how they all ended up here if mexico is so great.
I feel bad because I hate my country most of the time :( I still live in mexico (tijuana, so go figure all the things I see everyday) but I hope I can move somewhere else in the future.
funny thing is, I havent heard about the recent pictures of the first lady with her "second cousin". Probably the gov are keeping them away from the public eye so we stay calm.

This really upsets me. Especially hearing that little boy in pain in the video. Im praying for those familys of the children and the children that were injured. This is horrible and seeing the building! It was made of brick with pretty much no windows. I herd their were people hitting the walls with their cars to make a hole so the kids could get out. It's a really tragity. If Mexico doesn't get their shit together i hope the US can do it for them.

People doesnt realize thatin a lot of ways US gov already controls Mexico , thats why your financial crisis affected us so hard, and actually I'm really thankful for it. The Mexican personality is very closed, stupid and ignorant. Mexico its a great country, unfortunately its full of mexicans :( and dont misunderstand me, I know a lot of great people full of hope like me, more educated (im getting a master degree, planning keep preparing myself), but most of the population doesnt even finished elementary school and earn less than $400dlls a month.
to give you an idea of what im saying, im in my apartment and I can hear gunshots on the streets in this moment. Stupid lazy people who doesnt want to work and think that selling drugs will make them rich.

A couple hours from the boarder and my neighborhood is parked with mexicans from Mexico. Im not racist but some of them make bad choices and give them a bad name. I swear the house across the street has 5 familys living in a 3 bedroom house! I hear dun-dun-dun-dun every weekend when the neighbors use their yard for a quince. Im hoping Califronia passes the law that only so many people can live in a certain space.
