  • Keep Your Diaper On!

Yesterday, I was minding my own business. Sitting on the couch doing whatever. I think I was playing Sims 3 actually..

    Anyway.

Out of no where Jacey walks up to me naked and stands beside me. I thought it was kind of funny. Then as I was laughing at her standing there with her cute little naked butt I thought to myself "She's gonna pee."

And she did. All over the carpet.

This did not make me angry in the least bit. I did what I thought was appropriate at the time - I laughed harder. If you had seen her confused face, you'd have laughed too. It was funny to look at her wondering what the heck that was coming out and trickling down her leg.

She'd look down at her leg then up at me with this look of "Mommy..what is that?" a couple of times. Then when she saw me laughing, I guess she decided that whatever that warm liquid was, was ok. She started laughing too.

And then of course I put a new diaper on her and cleaned up her mess.

Although, I'm guessing her obsession with being naked has progressed. Seeing as ever since that moment, she's been taking off her diaper every time it's on. Then runs down the hall when I turn to get her to put another diaper on.

Well, I guess as long as she doesn't poop all over everything, I can deal with her wanting to be a little jungle child.

ONeill has figured out how to take his diapers off but he only made a mess once.

He poo'd all over his bed and then played with it. Bleh.

@MangoWOW@xanga - Hahaha my daughter used to do that until we came up with a wonderful idea to stop it.....DUCT TAPE!  She couldn't get it off after that   (of course now she's nearly 16 and is giving me the evil eye for writing this down lol)

@sillyrae@xanga - Haha. My mom said that when I was little she gave me to my grandpa to babysit. When it came to changing me he didn't understand "these new diapers" so he ended up duct taping the diaper shut.

I hope you have wood floors! I would laugh too, but I don't think I would if my son soaked the carpet!

my son would take his diaper off after he pooped and make a huge mess in his crib.
he did that about 6 times in two weeks, so we started putting onesies on him over his pants.  That's been the only thing that has kept him from doing that.

@KimisBarbie@xanga - That's what we do with my daughter too. But she was only doing it at night. Now she does it during the day too. lol. Oh well, onsies all the time now!

@Fairywife@xanga - We had to do that with our first son too.  He would strip his diaper off in a heartbeat.

Duct tape, duct tape, DUCT TAPE.  It really is the only thing that works...especially if the kid can already undress himself.

Hahaha, makes me glad im going to use cloth diapers with diaper safety pins. Children cant get those undone! Well really I guess she could just pull her diaper down. Haha Whatever, naked babies are cute anyways... even when they do pee on the floor.

My daughter can undress herself fully even from a onesie.  But she takes diapers off when they are dirty and attempts to put a new one on.  She usually gives up and runs free as a bird, which is a problem since she wears dresses a lot and I can't tell the diaper is gone.  I take it as time to potty train (yay!)
But I had her pee all over the floor once too and that is when she started trying to get a new diaper on cause she knew it was a bad girl thing to do.  I also thought it was funny, though changing the sheets every day is getting tiresome.  Might have to try the ductape idea for bedtime...

    @averyswife@xanga - DUCT TAPE!??? That's awesome...it would work too....hard to get off

seriously...I had the experience while on the phone with my pastor, of having him pee while sitting up RIGHT after I realized the diaper I had gotten to do the job was missing a tab. I turned to walk away for a second and came back to pee streaming in mid air...big grin and grabbing himself like...what the heck is that!? He now removes his diaper after he pees because he doesn't want it on. We are currently potty training, but he doesn't quite get how to tell us he has to potty yet. I love my Jonny!

Maybe this is a great opportunity to potty train her. Teach her sign language. It is a good way for her to tell you that she has to go potty.  Otherwise, put her on the potty every couple of hours starting from the time she wakes up in the morning until just before bedtime. She will get the idea and you will save lots of money on diapers which she doesn't want to keep on anyway.
