  • Things I Love About My Children

    Mama Pig by Mama Pig

Last night I was having a horrific time staying asleep. I went to sleep fine, but Emily has a bit of a cold and kept tossing and turning. I am a crazy light sleeper, so I woke up with every turn. Sometime around two, she woke up for some snuggle time. In all honesty; this is my absolute favorite time with her.

I put her into bed with me and gave her a bottle big girl cup. She quickly fell back to sleep and I just laid her on my chest. I kissed her sweet little head and inhaled the scent of her. About ten minutes later she began to laugh in her sleep. Caleb does the same thing almost every night and it never fails to warm my heart. I can't help but think that they must have had a great day if their dreams are making them laugh out loud while sleeping.

Another thing I love is watching Caleb and Emily play together. I have mentioned before, they have this very close relationship and I could spend hours watching the two of them laugh together. Chasing each other through the living room always brings laughs from us all. Caleb is even nice enough to let her catch him on occasion.

I love the fact that Emily is becoming more verbal. Yesterday she started telling me something and I finally got the idea. She kept telling me "paw print" and "clue". We  all know she loves Blues Clues and she was telling me all about it at dinner.

I love the fact that Caleb has begun to ask me to read to him more often. He is all into the Kingdom Hearts game and Jake had some of the books. While it is not my idea of entertainment; Caleb loves it and I am willing to take one for the team on occasion.

I love that Emily spends hours each day dancing around the living room. She loves music and will sing along to just about every Taylor Swift song.

I love the fact that I have been blessed with these amazing children. Yes, even the ones that drive me crazy most days.

Okay, I am off to dress Emily. I love that she likes to run naked through the house as a sign that she is sick of her jammies and wants some real clothes.

    Have a great day!

What do you love about your children?

Haha well right now the only consistent thing I can point out with ONeill is he loves playing Monster with me. I pretend I'm a monster and I might chase him down a hallway for a bit and then, while he's running, I'll go hide behind a door and he'll come back looking for me.
Though I love it when he sings. He still doesn't speak many real words but he does a lot of baby babbling. And then sometimes a familiar song will come on the TV or out of his toys and he'll sing along. Sometimes, I actually pick out a song from my ITunes and I'll sing and dance to it and he'll enjoy the show. lol

I love it when I am tired and I'll sit down on the couch and just watch Ray and Mila playing and my Rayray notices that I'm tired and he will out of no where jump on me pull his arms around my neck slaps a big wet one on me and proceeds to say "I love you mami" he will stay there for like a min and then run off with his baby sister.

I love Mila's smiles. She will constantly laugh. and is an overall happy baby. She just warms the heart she is a calming baby. Could turn your worst days into something beautiful.

They both love music and I love when ray grabs Milas arms and starts to show her how to "dance"

    • About Me: Hello everyone. I am Mama Pig. I am a very busy mom of eight children. Five by birth and three my marriage. While it is a busy life, it is one I wouldn't change for the world. Our oldest is 18 and will be graduating in May. We are even in the boys/girls department with four each. Two just turned 14, two just turned 12, one will be 10 this year, and the babies are 4 and 2. There are no twins in the mix, just step siblings that happen to be close in age. You will read alot about Down syndrome when you read my blog. Our youngest daughter was born with Down syndrome as well as a congenital heart defect. These are two issues I am extremely passionate about. I just resumed classes at the local community college. My goal is to someday reach law school with the hopes of focusing on family law.
