Why Girls Should Wear Panties and Cross Their Legs
by Mama Pig Oh my; I really can't make this stuff up.
I was just checking out the headlines and found this. A Florida mother is demanding that her daughter's high school stop handing out yearbooks and reclaim those that have already been handed out. It seems that the young girl in question had her picture taken with a group. She was in the front row; wearing a skirt; with no panties on; and she didn't cross her legs.
Now mind you; this is not my daughter, so perhaps I would have a slightly different view (no pun intended) if it were, but from where I sit; this young woman should either cover up or cross her legs. There are certain rules to when wearing a dress and sitting down. First, one should wear panties. I realize the young girl was concerned with panty lines, but that is why they made thongs. Second, if you just can't stand the dental floss feel of said thongs; cross those legs little missy.
This mother is asking the school to undertake a huge expense in not only recalling all the books handed out, but destroying each and every book and then, reprinting them without the "let it all hang out" picture. They did not make her daughter expose herself. This was not a "Girls Gone Wild" video shoot. This was a group picture with a girl that was the only person in the room fully aware she was not wearing undies. She made the decision to sit where the possibility of exposure was high and now wants to blame the school?
In all honesty; had they kept their mouths quiet (and her legs properly crossed) the chance of anyone noticing something would have been slim to none. My high school yearbook was over a thousand pages. Yes, I went to a big school, but I can assure you; the only pictures I paid that much attention to were my own. I did not spend hours trying to find someone that gave the money shot.
In fact; an entire class picture of our graduating class had two kids shooting the bird. We had 946 in my class at the time and it was not something that was noticed until one of the boys parents informed the school. We were asked to return the pictures and some poor soul spent a few days placing a large red marker dot over the offending fingers. We were not made to reshoot the picture, nor were we made to destroy the evidence. Had that boys mom not called; it would have caused a few laughs and everyone would have moved on with life.
In my opinion; this girl made a choice and now she must live with that choice. Going commando is something that many people do and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem lies in; if you are having your picture taken and you are sitting in the front row knowing that you are letting it all hang out; have enough sense to cross your legs. Why should this school be forced to expend that kind of money for one girls lack of common sense?
Okay, opening it up for discussion. Is the school responsible for reprinting the yearbooks or is the girl and her family trying to pass the bad decision off on them?
Also, who wants to bet that before this is all over; this young girl receives an offer for a thong commercial?

all the men in my family cross their legs too.Â
I do think that the girl made a mistake in the first place, and that both her and her mother did by making it so public.
However, what the school should do, I don't know. You get into all kinds of child pornography issues with that.
Although, from what I hear (I haven't seen the picture up close) it's not very obvious what it is, and in fact is probably just her thighs.
I share your viewpoint. I doubt she intended to flash the school, but she should have had a little common sense. Who wears a skirt and nothing beneath it, seriously? If the skirt was short enough to see what's beneath it, then I really double that question. Hopefully this was a learning experience for her.
It's not the schools fault. They shouldn't have to go back and do any of that. To ask the school to take all of the year books back and destroy them is really, really horrible. Her daughter should have thought about that before wearing what she chose to wear.
Whether she expected to get her picture taken or not, she still wore that outfit, she still didn't have her legs crossed.
@TheDumberScott@xanga - I've seen it on TheoDan's site, but it wasn't very clear so you couldn't tell.
poor girl.
her mom is just making it worse by doing what she is doing.
i am an editor of my schools yearbook and we all laughed at this story. its SOO dumb. seriously, if one dumb slut girl can't figure out how to cross her legs, wear underwear, or at least keep her knees together (in HIGH SCHOOL) then thats her own problem. do they understand how much money it costs to print yearbooks?! that's why each one is like $75 at my school!
This makes no sense! The girl did not have her legs open, she was not baring all, her legs were closed! They were not crossed, but they were closed!
I think this is blown out of proportion & it's the girls' mother's fault. She's the one in the media talking about it & I dont think anyone would have noticed if they didnt say something. It's not like she did it on purpose, so I dont think it's fair for people to be calling this girl a slut when all she was doing was avoiding pantylines.
As for the yearbook thing, I'm sure no one will think about it once the story goes away.
When we took our class picture they told us if you did that in the picture you would pay for the whole thing. We just had some person in the very middle turn their head so we've got everyone all perfect and then a blur on the back row.
I mean, it is the schools job to look over every picture and make sure everything is appropriate. So in a way, I think it is their responsibility to take all the books back and at least try to cover up her vagoo.
I mean, when it comes down to it I feel that it's all the girls fault. Why the hell would she wear a dress and not cross her legs especially when she's going commando.
But I bet that if the school doesn't take action the mother will try some silly stunt like saying that they're handing out child pornography.
The girl is definitely at fault, but the school should have stop giving the yearbooks. It's something called "Photoshop."
If the parents want the book reprinted they should pay to have it reprinted. I'm surprised that the school or other students are not suing the student and her family for ruining their yearbook.
doesn't her school have a dress code? why is she allowed to wear a dress short enough to show her stuff anyway? lol
but that was definitely a bad move talking to the news and making a big deal about it. Now people are going to be looking for the picture, when they probably wouldn't have even noticed it before.
The answer to your questions are, I don't know, I don't know, and I don't know.
Going commando in jeans is one thing, going commondo in a mini skirt is one horny little out of control kid. A Britney Spears wanna be. I say make this kid register with the state as a sex offender. I bet if a dude did the same thing they would. But then a dude wouldn't be wearing a minni skirt, well most.
What kind of parent would let her daughter dress like that anyway? That girl is a moron for going commando. I have no pity for them. They made poor decisions that they now have to live with.
the mother definitely blew it out of proportion. sure there would probably would have been some rumors around the school about "omg, look, i think that's her ____". But now that it's been admitted, plastered all over the news, radio, internet..., they must have known that the unedited picture would surface sooner or later.
they should have left it alone, it would have been an embarrassing secret to keep, but the picture shows nothing, aside from the fact that nobody taught her how to sit properly.
Hmm, not sure what the appropriate course of action here is. I mean, the girl did  choose to sit up front and not cross her legs; this isn't elementary school where we need help picking out our own clothes.. but at the same time, the school should've caught it while reviewing pictures for the yearbook. Perhaps they should split the cost?
Mom's an idiot for taking it to the news though, thats for sure! What a horrible embarassment that must be...the thing is, even if the school did reprint the yearbooks and take back all the other ones, by this time the picture is on the internet and due to the mom alerting the news, there are way more people who are now able to see it than ever would have. So it really doesn't even matter if they reprint them because it won't take away people seeing it. And besides, how would they guarantee that everyone would turn their yearbook back in?
It's sad, and I certainly do feel bad for the girl, but seriosuly? It's mostly her fault. Wearing no panties with a dress, and then not crossing your legs while sitting down is a big NO-NO that most girls have figured out by 16. I can understand the mother doesn't want pictures of her kid out there, but really, other than paying for the whole reprinting process, she can't force the board to do anything because there seems to be no clear visual (as mentioned in the video). I think the girl would be better off just going to another school and leaving this all behind. It's unfortunate, but it's kind of her fault (mostly).
I think Playboy.com is hiring. :p
The girl should have taken responsibility for herself, so the school shouldn't reprint the yearbook. However, as someone who was on the yearbook staff in high school as a photographer, the photographer who took this photo and the editors should have caught this before printing. It's irresponsible of them as well.Â
I haven't seen the picture, but if her vag is out there, the books should be reclaiming and destroyed. I mean, how would you feel if one day you made a stupid mistake and then your vagina was in your high school yearbook? Even worse, how would you feel if your daughters vagina was in her high school yearbook? Â I really can't believe that everyone thinks this mother is so stupid. I definitely wouldn't want people seeing my daughters vagina either... even if it was because of a stupid mistake on her part.
that girl is either stupid or WANTED it to happen. do parents really go through their kids yearbooks and scan their childs pics to see if it is in/appropriate?
if you ladies think putting on panties is difficult enough, try putting on pants every single day like us guys.
@thinkin_up_dreams@xanga - I completely agree with everything except when you said it's all her fault. It's definitely more her fault that anyone else's, but, like you said, it's the schools job to go through and make sure everything is appropriate before handing them out to a bunch of ruthless high school students.
