The question is - how many pregnancy tests did I use? A LOT. I bought whatever was on sale, but I recommend waiting until you're actually late to take a test. They never turned positive for me until I was a week or two late.
i used clearblue digital test, the one that say's "pregnant" or "not pregnant"...&& yes i would recommend it to anyone! I was told by my doctor take no more then whats in the box, meaning only take that 1 or 2...cause if it is the same answer as the first time then its a for sure if you are or aren't!
I took three...I was in straight denial. I don't like the line ones...they are just too faint for me. I like the ones that say 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'.... so much simpler
at the Drs office to get birth control (ha! long story that I won't bore you with). I have no idea what kind it was.
I used a really cheap test. It was only $1 but it was accurate.
I used an Equate test (Wal Mart generic brand). It worked great, was easy to read, and it had a cap for the peed-on end which was nice.
I agree that you should wait until your period is late to test. I tested 3 days after mine was due.
I bought Clear Blue mostly because I had seen if advertised a lot on tv. It actually gave me a scetchy reading which made me tihnk I wasn't pregnant but after reading the instructions again it said that no matter who faint one of the lines if you can see if make a plus sign then it's positive.
The Doctor's urine test let me down twice and then the blood work showed I was pregnant.
I then remember using First Response mostly cause it came with two which I thought I could use another time or give it to one of my silly friends.
i'd reccomened either test that I took but especially going to the Doctor's lol which women usually do anyways!
First Response-the gold standard for neurotic early pee-on-a-stick-ers.
Actually, I got a super-faint line on a Target generic test. Then I got light lines on 2 Answer tests. Then slightly darker lines on 2 First Responses. Then 2 slow-to-appear "Pregnant"s on Clearblue Easy Digitals.
All that at what turned out to be 3 weeks pregnant (7 days post conception, based on first trimester ultrasound dates). No wonder the lines were light. I didn't believe my due date when the doctor gave them to me.
I used the Answer brand --- it's like a knock-off of First Response.
Actually, I knew I was pregnant because I was charting and I was 15 days past ovulation and my temp hadn't dropped and I had no signs of a period. So...i was pretty sure I was pregnant. I tested at 16dpo and 17dpo and also had a blood test on 17dpo. :D
With my first I used 2 - the Clear Blue ones that say pregnant/not pregnant. And then they did a blood test at the OB office.
With my second, I took one too early and it was negative. But I knew I was pregnant. So I waited a week and took another and it was positive. These were just the cheap Wal-Mart brand. They work fine and are really just as easy to read as the digital ones, if you can read the instructions. I then took another one when I went to meet with my midwife for the first time.
I took the kind that comes with 2 in the box. Maybe it was first response. I don't know. But i took like 4. They all came up positive. Hahaha. I wanted to be pregnant, and I was just making sure that it wasn't a trick.
I've always used the generic brands with the + or the -. Not pregnant yet, but here's hoping!
(BTW, I was on birth control that was making me feel very nauseated in the mornings, which is what led me to test on a couple of occasions.)
Yes, I used EPT.
With my first, I used Walgreens brand and got a positive. I used Walmart's Equate brand with this pregnancy and kept getting negatives. Finally, two Dollar General tests gave me positives.
for my son I used EPT,it said pregnant about a second after I peed on it.With my daughter I went to the doctors because I had had 2 miscarriages right before that and I was terrified that it was just left over hormones...with this pregnancy I used price chopper brand =] all of them were accurate.and with this last one I took like 4 tests because we had been SO careful,we were all done having babies, but SUPRISE!
I've used many. And all of them have been negative.
With my first daughter i dont know because i was young and my friend (she was much older) she brought the test for me because she said i looked really sick and pale
My second child i used first response my husband and i planned this pregnancy so he was buying me first response left and right lol
My third child I had got into a car accident and i still drove to work because i wasnt badly hurt and my jeep was drivable and i got to work and i passed out, i got to the hospital and i was in a stretcher and i had to pee in a pan and i guess they decided to take a pregnancy test and it came back postive and i was like "yea right thats not true and they need to take blood because the test was wrong" and of course the blood work came back postive. so no HPT with my third lol.
I get whatever kind is cheap. They all do the same thing. I don't have to know a week before my period.
With both of my pregnancies I was "surprised" and each time I bought the generic type of test (two lines yes, one line no) thing. Both times I took both the tests in the box and they both came up positive.
tests at the doctor's office confirmed both. I think really any test will do, but for peace of mind, I was happy that I took more than one "pee on a stick" test.
WOW! I can't believe that many people remember what brand pregnancy test they used. I must be a flake. I am pretty sure I used them for all 4 of my pregnancies - though I am not 100% sure about that with my first one. I was in denial and didn't tell anybody until I was 21 weeks. But I have no idea what kind I used any of the times - whatever was cheap and easy to find. Guess I never put that much thought into it.Â
I used Clear Blue, but I already knew I was pregnant when I skipped my period. I'm ALWAYS on time, and knew right away when I didn't start that I was pregnant.
@jemaigrirai@xanga - Ha, same here. I've used many brands, all of which have come up negative.
@Karamelqt@xanga - I was exactly the same way. I used First Response, and it has the lines on the test, and the second line was so faint, I didn't know what to think. So we bought a digital one, I think it was Clearblue. Altogether I took 4 until I was satisfied.
Yes. I like the Clear Blue Easy digital test.
I am taking a pregnancy test tomorrow as I'm 9 days late for my period and if my period still doesn't show up for another 8 days then I'm going to the doctor to get a blood test. BFN 12/18/2006 @ 19, BFN 10/20/2008 @ 21, 2 false pregnancies. TTC 2 1/2 years. Actively tried from October 2006 to January 2009. Spotting May 3rd to May 6th (Spotting does not count as your period according to 4 health websites I read). Never had spotting before. Not getting my hopes up and not stressing about my period being late. Not even worried about my period being late.
