At what age did you get your first car? Did your parents buy it for you or did you buy it yourself? Will you buy your kids their first car? When?

when I was 18 for my birthday! a lovely car, 08 honda accord coupe fully loaded !
Not yet. I want a job to save up for a car but I also need a car to get to a job. So unless my mom buys a new car and I get her old one, no car or job for me. :[
None yet, but I'm welcomed to take Mom's car whenever I want to. She stays at home most of the time, so it's really more mine than hers =)
i got my first car when i was 16 and i put $1500 for the down payment, it wasn't a super nice car, but it was a nissan sentra with super low miles. my mom registered it under her name and then when i finished paying it off within 3 years, she signed it over to me. i think i would do the same for my kids too, i worked really hard to get a car when i was 16. they would have to show the same dedication i did as well.
My parents randomly surprised me with a 94 grand am when I was only a little over 16. It was a pretty dope birthday present, until I thought that I could 4-wheel in it. xD I still have it too *cries*
6 months after my 16th birthday, my parents officially let me have their 23 year old benz that had been sitting in our driveway ever since my mom got another car.
Until then, it was just THEIR extra car, not mine.
My parents and I went half and half on my second car...and 7 years later, I'm on my third car, which I just bought myself via the VW dealership.
And if I have money and my kids are responsible, then I suppose I could help them out. Not with a new car though, def. USED.
Parents bought it when I turned 18, it was 10 years old. Car died after 6 years of operation and I saved up enough for a down payment for a new car.
Yes, would buy my kids cars when I have a couple. Going to be used though. Saw what happened to kids with new cars, not going to spoil them, going to make them learn to save for their own cars.
I drove the family car when I first got my license but I didn't get my own car until I was 22. It was a college graduation present
i got my first car when i was about 25. i bought it myself. my parents only came to know about my car ownership when my car bumper knocked against some pillar while reversing
16, but I didn't drive until 17 when I was able to get a parking permit at school. My parents bought it. IDK what our plan is for our kid.
I paid $300 for a 89 poniac grand prix with a bright red carpeted interior when I was 17.
I was nineteen... It was around last June or so. My father gave me his old car when they bought a new one. I probably would have had a car sooner, but we didn't really have the money to do so, and the one job I did have in High School was so high stress because of the lack of work from the other employees that I ended up having to quit so that I could focus on school instead of coming home tired and pissed off every night.
As for my kids... I'm not sure. It really depends on our funds, and how responsible they are when it comes to who buys it, and when.
