I'm Guilty. I Ate the Baby's Food!
When I was younger, I was given the honorable job of babysitting my little cousins. I changed their diapers, I played with them, I put them to sleep, and I fed them. The baby food always looked so mushy and not really appetizing to me. Mashed up squash, green peas, turkey, and other baby food flavors didn't appeal to me at all. But one day I was feeding a little cousin of mine his banana-flavored baby food. It smelled kind of sweet, it smelled like bananas!
And that's when it happened!
I was feeding him, but the spoon ended up going into my mouth! I couldn't help it. I felt so curious. And it was yummy! After that, I tried other flavors and I'd say banana was my favorite. I can see why some of my cousins didn't like to eat the other flavors.

Are you guilty of this? Have you ever tried baby food? Did you like it?

Nope. When my grandma was feeding one of my cousins once, she tried to get me to eat some of his food so that he'd think that I liked it - therefore maybe eat some himself. That backfired because I ran out of the room.
Though I have tried baby food, yes. When I was a baby.
No. Not even the fruit flavors taste good to me. My son wouldn't eat them so he skipped the jarred stuff.
We always made our own baby food so yes I ate it. It was just mashed up what ever we ate.
The veggies are yucky (bland and watery mostly) and the meats are absolutely horrid. The fruits and desserts are awesome. When I had my wisdom teeth taken out, I had all 4 done at once and they all required stitches. I couldn't open my mouth very wide and I wasn't allowed to use a straw for some 4 days. My solution was to buy the baby food fruits and desserts. Since I couldn't each much at a time, I had to eat every 30 minutes or so and the baby food jars slipped nicely into my purse.
I figure it's no worse than if I made some fruit purees at home and put them in the little gladware containers.
yes! i used to eat the apple because it was like applesauce. my cousin and sister always liked the other fruit flavors but there's stilll a weird taste to them that makes it taste like baby food.
Hey! Guilty as Charged! Some of those fruit things are tasty!.
When I was in middle school me and my friends used to eat it as snacks. It was yummy, good for you and the best part cheap!
I haven't, since I was a baby. That's just because we never had it around (my younger sister is only two years younger than I am). I'm sure when I have my own kids I might give in, though.
Hawaiian Delight. BEST tasting baby food ever.
I tried Gerber's level 2 (forget the title, don't think it's level) sweet potatoes. It tasted horrible and like there were preservatives or SOMETHING added that it didn't mention in the label.
I always try my dog's food when we get her a new brand and I sure am going to be trying my baby's foods when I have one.
It'll be a while though. I'm just 17. xD
Strawberry baby food is amazing and blueberry is quite good too. I always have some in my house, you never know when you'll have a craving for some strawberry baby food. I highly recommend trying it.
Of course...I always taste what I'm about to feed my daughter before I give it to her...mainly to make sure it tastes fine and the temperature is good.
haha, that's cute.
I eat some of my son's baby fruits and desserts. Since he's older now, he mostly eats what we do in smaller portions, but still has some jars of baby food. I got him those flavored applesauces, which are amazing. But otherwise the fruit and desserts are all I would try. The meats just looked grossed and smelled just as bad.
haha. I still eat baby food.
I never eat the one Im feeding them though. I always just pop into the cabinets and get my own. My favorite is mango!
Never ate any on purpose, but the way they fling that stuff around when you try to feed them - yeah, I've tasted a few different flavors - when it got splattered in my face. I guess that's what you'd call an occupational hazard.
Baby food (the kind I've always ended up using at least) is essentially mashed food.
I use carrot baby food in my carrot cake sometimes...it's easier than peeling, boiling, and pureeing them myself.
When I got my tonsil out and got sick of ice cream? Baby food. Whenever I have strep throat? Baby food. It's not too shabby.
I like the banana ones. Or anything that has banana in it (banana-apple-pear...)
Yum yum!
Hawaiian Delight was good too...
I have tried gerber's fruit ones.. they are really good and usually very healthy for you
I will have to admit, nope. I haven't tasted them. I knew they couldn't taste that good. My 1st and 2nd kid ate baby jarred food, then my 3rd kid just flat out REFUSED to eat any of the baby cereals and baby jar food!!!! REFUSED!! He would just open his mouth until I am just about to pop it into his mouth and he would QUICKLY shut his mouth before I'm able to put it in his mouth!! What a SMART KID!! So we just started mashing our own food and gave it to him and had NO PROBLEMS feeding him ever since! What a smart 'lil boy!
HAHA!! Yes, I love the Gerber Graduates baby snacks. The peach puffs are my favorite. I give my daughter a few and keep a few for myself. I wish they sold them in the big bag like the animal crackers, but I'm sure that would cost a million dollars...
I've bought the fruit to eat as snacks. And I don't even have a baby!
I've tried a couple of them. Or, rather, had them forced on me in ice-breaker games. I don't like baby food. Now if they did strawberry puree. . .
I love banana baby food! I'll occasionally buy it just as a snack. I remember when my little sister wouldn't always finish her bananas, my mom would let me finish them off. :)
My mom said I was crazy about the apple-blueberry mixed fruit stuff til I was four or five lol.
And my sister got sent to school with baby food once as punishment for eating non-finger-food with her hands instead of utensils.Â
