I had a funeral for one of my oldest pets when I was in middle school. He was a parakeet & he was called Ringleader because he was like the boss bird & we buried him in the backyard of grandma's house. Mom wasnt too keen on going out into the autumn chill but she was a good sport & even dug the hole for the box.
