Need Help With Baby Names!
by Mama Monkey As I have shared, we are having our 4th boy in a couple months. I can't say that naming any of them was truly easy, though with the first one his first name was a given as he is the 6th male with that name in my husband's family. So with him, all we had to do was pick a middle name - making it a bit easier. With the next two, we were able to find names that we liked, make a list, narrow it down and, ulitimately, agree upon a first and middle name.
This time, we seem to be having a bit more trouble. I have always been a bit picky about names I guess. I tend to like more unique names, where my husband tends to steer more towards the traditional norm. We must be running out of names that fall somewhere in the middle, because we have yet to decide on a name for this baby. (It would truly be much easier had my husband decided to donate some female sperm in the efforts, but we are having yet another boy making the choice a bit more difficult.)
So, I thought I would come to you, my blog community, for some help. There are a few names that we have been thinking about that I would like to get some other opinions on. I am also open to any other suggestions, seeing as my husband and I can not agree, so far, on any of the names on our list. (Personally, I think I should get the ulitmate decision seeing as I am still the only female in our house. Kind of like condolences for still being so outnumbered? Hmm ... K, maybe not, but it was a nice thought right?) Anyhow, here are a few of the names that are on our list. Recommend mix and match of the first and middle names or, like I said, any other ideas.
First name thoughts: Asher, Ryerson, Kael, Theoden, Uzziah, Liam
Middle name thoughts: Asher, Kael, Uzziah, Beckett, Jasper, Liam, Dante
Some examples we have thought of : Asher Liam - Asher Uzziah - Asher Kael - Ryerson Asher - Ryerson Jasper (hubby could then call him RJ since he doesn't like the name Ryerson or nickname Rye) - Theoden Dante
Any help we can get would be great.

I like Asher Liam. I have thought of using both of those names with my future (not near) boys.
Out of yours, I like "Asher Kael" the best.
We were all over the place with boy names before we found out were havig a girl. Tim liked "Allistair" and I liked "Langston" or "Jayne". (Yeah, it's probably best that we had a girl...lol.)
Of your list, I like Kael the best. Liam Kael?
I like Asher and Liam. I'm sorry, but I don't know what Uzziah is or really how to pronounce it so I would stear clear of that one. I am all for a name that a teacher won't butcher when it comes to roll call. I'm sorry if that's a family name or anything, but that's my opinion.
I like John or Thomas or Mark for the more traditional names. For something more unique I like Lavin or Landon. It's hard!
I'd say Asher Liam or Jasper Liam.
I love the name Kael, too. Have you considered combining three of the names? I think Kael Liam Beckett sounds great.
P.S. Congrats!! :)
Liam Asher
I like Liam and Kael, as well. I think Asher is a terrible name. It's very sissy-sounding, and heaven forbid if the kid has a lisp.
Theoden isn't bad, either. It evokes images of Norse culture to me, so I like that.
To keep things totally different, I like Xavier as a first or middle name, but I also like the name Jonathan for a more traditional name.
@chix0rgirl@xanga - I second that. Liam Asher. Good choice!
I like Liam Jasper.. or Jasper Liam, whatevs.
I like Asher Liam, Jasper Kael, and Liam Beckett. Good luck! :)
Jasper!
@storiesandsinker@xanga - Liam Jasper ftw!
Otherwise, try compromising by giving the boy one of your fun, unique first names and letting hubby pick a more traditional choice for a middle name. You can always let him go by his middle name if he decides he likes it better when he's older.I've seen Liam, Asher, Kael, and Dante.
Jasper reminds me of 101 Dalmatians bad guy.
I like the sound of Ryerson Beckett. What about Ryerson Jet? Still has the "RJ" theme for the husband.
Ryerson Jethro?
*shrugs* I'm not real good at this.
Let us know the results!
I like Liam Asher.
I kinda like Ryerson. I've never heard of it. It's different... but I like it. Ryerson Beckett? I think it's cute.
I love Asher Beckett. It sounds like Biblical tied in with more mainstream...which seems to be the discrepancy you and your husband are having. Good luck!
I like names that are unique, and are really different !!! Good Luck !!! Let us know what you decide.
Tristan? or Preston? Of your names I REALLY like Liam. Maybe Liam Beckett or Liam Jett?
Liam Asher, for sure! My husband likes conventional names, while I go for the uniqueness factor. Our perfect compromise has been really old family names, so old they're unusual again. My kids ended up named for great-great-grandparents. Also, for boy names grandmas' maiden names are a good place to look. My family has Houston, Etta, Savannah, O'Neal, Cantrell, Weaver - if you look back far enough you come up with some pretty interesting stuff.
Isn't Kael something you grow in a vegetable garden?
Do you pronounce Kael like "Kyle" or like "kale?" I'm really bad with more interesting names. But, my favorite from your list is Liam.
I like Asher Kael. Also, Asher Beckett.
The name Asher brings up memories of a VERY adorable little boy who's mother I worked with. And the biblical reference is not a bad one either. :)
liam asher or asher liam. i don't like uzziah... too weird ):
