How Do You Fold Flat Diapers? Check This Out...

On a Momaroo post last week, someone was talking about flat diapers, and how they did not look substantial  enough to serve as diapers.  I cloth-diapered all three of our kids, and mostly used the flat birdseye diapers.  This was partly because that's what I was given, and partly because they dry so much more quickly than the pre-folds.

It was suggested that I post a video showing how to fold these diapers, so here we go.

I used a piece of flannel print for this demo, so you could actually see what I'm doing.  Also, the piece of fabric I used was much smaller than a regular birdseye diaper would be.  I used what would fit easily on my desktop

First is the Ice Cream Cone fold.  This is the fold I learned from my mother and the one I used exclusively.  The nice thing about this fold is that, as baby grows, you can adjust both the width and the length of the diaper by adjusting how far in you fold.

The second is called an Origami fold.  It seems to be pretty popular, as I found many demonstrations of it on the web.  I never used it, but it seems to be a little short in the rise for my liking.  The Origami also doesn't look to be adjustible size-wise. Of course, I don't have a baby to try it on.

I hope these videos are helpful.

Have you ever considered using cloth diapers? If you use them which fold do you use?
