"Dave After Dentist" Video: Did The Father Go Too Far?
A friend of mine sent me this video to watch and I thought it was hysterical!
She also informed me that there was controversy over this video because some parents thought it was inappropriate for the father to video tape his little boy on anesthesia.
Do you think that the father took it a step too far? Would/have you ever video tape your child acting funny/out of it?

Being as the kid was anesthetized for a medical reason I see nothing wrong with it. If he were anesthetizing him for laughs it would be a horrible thing! But, nothing wrong with the video. It's good fun.
The remixes are freaking hilarious!
Parents are obsessed with firsts and funny things. When the kid grows up, he could look at this and laugh.
I agree, if it was just to be funny it would have been wrong but he was loopy because of oral surgery. I'm sure after he came out of it, he would even think it's funny.
There is nothing wrong with trying to catch your kids reaction to something. In this case the father struck comedic gold with the way his kid behaved. He'll keep this and never let his son live this down, lol.
Oh please, I really think that people are getting so uptight. The dad even wrote that the boy was scared so he thought videotaping the before and after would help the kid feel better. The dad was being a good father by helping the kid relax and feel better about having oral surgery done. He just happened to have captured a very funny scene with him and (as silentscream put so well) struck comedic gold!
I saw some people saying shit like "He's letting the kid enjoy a chemical reaction and is thereby letting him know things like drugs are fun." Seriously, people like that need to get the stick out of their ass and have a little fun. He isn't telling his kid "dude this is exactly like smoking pot. Isn't it fun?" and he isn't "exploiting" the kid either. All he did was take a home video of his son. I thought it was hysterical and showed it to my family.
I don't like how the dad keeps saying, "It feels good doesn't it?"... It just sounds wrong to me.
I do, however, think the video is completely innocent. This little boy is going to watch the video later and laugh his little butt off! My son has had some pretty hilarious reactions to anesthesia and I wish we had the camera to catch them on tape!

Poor kid...he's so confused. lol. I think it's harmless. He's going to laugh at that when he is older.
awesome! haha
people need to relax. i was sauced when i had my wisdom teeth out last week and i WISH some one would have been there with a camera!
Taping it and not taping it wouldn't change the way the boy reacted. He still would have been all effed up. The kid is gonna laugh when he's older and can watch that.
People should just worry about themselves. I bet these same people complaining don't complain when parents post far worse videos of their children getting hurt on America's Funniest Home Videos. Get over it.
I don't see anything wrong with taping it, the kid had oral surgery it's not like the dad purposely drugged the kid for just this purpose. My mom wished she had a video camera the day I got my wisdom teeth out, she said I was a hoot....Â
pfft the kid will find it hilarious esp when hes older!
That looked like America's funniest home videos. :)
I read a follow up story in our local paper, it was about a case where a 3 y/o was beaten to death by his father......
so, no, I don't think this dad went too far.
That was funny! I didn't see anything inappropriate about it at all.
Too many people have sticks up their asses. The video is hilarious, and I'm sure the kid will also laugh at it one day.
I have a great picture of my now seven year old ( she was like 2 when the picture was taken) where she looks drunk. Her daycare teacher was taking random pictures and got one right when she woke up, with the drool down her face unto her shirt.. she has this funny half smile with sleepy eyes.. it's hilarious! Was I upset about the picture being taken? No, its too funny! I've added it to the pile of funny ( embarrassing) things to show her when she is 16...
the father was trying to help the kid. He wasnt taking advantage of the kid, or making him do something he doesnt want to do ( except probably oral surgery) and the people with their panties in a twist should be worrying about the kids who are being abused, neglected, etc.
People like to find things to get upset about. The video is so funny. I can guarantee the boy thought it was funny when he watched it later. The dad wasn't doing anything to egg him on or make fun of him so how could people be upset about this?
I agree with everyone. It's just a funny video and hell if my son was like that, I'd video tape it too.
Some people need to lighten up and enjoy life.
oh please, it's hilarious. he's what, six years old? people freak out for no reason nowadays.
why do people have to be so touchy about stuff? in a few years, that kid will be laughing at his own video... its those moments that we appreciate being recorded because they fade from memory so quickly. :)
it was hilarious! and it wasn't as though they were huffing for fun in the backyard and videotaping it... it was medical for goodness sakes!
i think some people are too uptight. i see nothing wrong with the video. besides, it was just for fun and it's something to keep for memory. plus it'd probably be fun for the kid and parents to look back on. people need to relax and take a chill-pill.. seriously.
i agree with everyone on this. not only was the video hilarious, but the dad even explained to the kid what was going on when david asked "why is this happening to me???", XD.
i remember when i got my wisdom teeth pulled out, i was out of it for like 2 days.
I'm amused. I think this is just one of those goofy things Dad might threaten to show his first girlfriend, like the toddler-bath-in-the-sink kind of videos. You know what I mean--every parent has plenty of clips that their kids would call embarassing but which really are cute.
Cute! I love his honest questions: Is this real life? Is this going to last forever?
