Celebrating a 3rd Birthday! Our Family Tradition...
by Mama Fox My grumpy little one turned 3 on Tuesday!
He was being camera shy in the morning so I didn't get any good pictures of him with his balloons. It's a family tradition to fill the birthday person's room with balloons after they go to sleep so on their birthday they wake up to a balloon party.

I love his face! Reading his card from H.
H's planets, he even made Earth have a crater. (By the way that is Fantasia on the TV.)
We had a fun day just doing the family thing. We hung around and let T make decisions on what was for lunch and what movie to watch. He had a great time. We got a family membership to the San Antonio Zoo as a joint present to the boys so we'll be going there in the next couple of weeks.
The party will be towards the end of February. H's birthday is March 15 and since we only know a handful of people here it doesn't make any sense to have separate parties with their birthdays so close together. I still need to plan that out but I'm sure it will involve BBQ. Haha!
Does your family have any birthday traditions? What are you planning on doing for any upcoming birthdays?

That's a great tradition, especially for the little ones! What a cute smile. Sigh, they grow up way too fast!
When we were little, the birthday fairy always used to come and decorate our room at night with streamers, balloons, and the like. I think she was related to the tooth fairy (who, by the way, always left us the money and the tooth).
T's face reading the card is precious! Too cute!
Aww. :o) So far, all we've done for birthdays is homemade cakes and usually spending part of the day with Tim's mom, but we're still pretty new at the whole 'family' thing. :o)
@Katja88@xanga - I like that! Okay, so we don't do too much of the fantasy/fairy thing, but the idea of decorating their room at night is awesome!
when i was little, my older sister and i always shared birthday parties as well. the tradition that has evolved in the past few years is that the birthday person get to choose where we go out to eat. sounds dull, but my youngest sister is 12, and thinks she is much older anyway.
i like the balloon idea!
The Zoo membership is such a great gift idea!
Happy birthday!
