Cleaning Up and Clearing Out: The Nesting Stage
Guest post from mamajoyjoy

I think I'm in that stage of pregnancy where I'm trying to clean everything up and get ready for the new baby. For sure, I will not be able to do this stuff later on. I will never get around to it. I just recently captioned photos in 2 albums from our honeymoon. And guess what? We still haven't really printed out photos from our wedding....3+ years ago!
I'm still waiting on my uncle to come install the drop-down ladder to our attic so we can store a few boxes up there, and then really start reorganizing the closets. Sure, the rest of the house looks decent, but the closets are a mess right now. We're donating some big items- new, never been used, because I feel that "one day" will never come for us to use those certain items.
Okay, off to see what I can do or rather, what M will let me do.Did you have the urge to organize, clean and "nest" when you are/were pregnant?

Yes! When I was having the pregnancy insomnia, I was cleaning. When I was tired, I was cleaning. When I had energy, I was cleaning. Looking back, I wish I had been taking naps, and resting more because I sure don't get much of that now!!
Oh man, I did! The day before I went to the hospital to deliver the baby, I was cleaning the house and decorating the nursery.
Yes, though I didn't do cleaning so much as organizing and getting rid of stuff. Well, I should say, getting help with my organizing- I love when things are organized and put away, but for the life of me, I can't organize things the way I want them... go figure!
But I still hate to clean, so if I get a real cleaning bug one of these days, I'll know FOR SURE that labor is impending!
At 27 weeks, it hasn't hit me yet! Though I've heard the 3rd trimester is when most people feel it most strongly. (Or maybe it's just because I'm a procrastinator in every other area of my life?)
In any case, I'm not on bedrest for pre-term labor, so this Little One will be born into a mess of epic proportions!!!
My nesting didn't really start until AFTER I had my baby. Sure I went through a panic in my last few weeks making sure his room was ready and the house was clean...but about a week or two into him being at home I started going through boxes of crap we had in our garage while he was napping. I went through all my clothes and donated a TON of stuff to make more room for baby. If that was enough for the first time in years I'm done organizing Christmas...buying, wrapping and decorating. This is the first time that's happened this I've lived with my parents...usually I'm still struggling to complete stuff the night before.
@IamKelleyK@xanga - Rest? What's that? I know what you mean.
@RoAngie467 - I know someone who was washing the car when she was in the early stages of labor. She didn't want to just wait around. haha
@Mom2Be - Can't wait for the attic to be accessible. Hope to hear good news from you soon.
@Tara - My 1st and 3rd trimesters I seem to be a zombie...total exhaustion. You're almost there! Congrats!
@Rencherry@xanga - I did a lot of organizing afterwards too...more like rearrnaging to see what fits where best. Good job on getting the Christmas stuff done!
