My favorite cook book is Saving Dinners. It has great recipes and if you want to use it the way it's laid out it gives week to week menus with shopping lists and everything.
My favorite outside source for recipes is http://allrecipes.com/
In fact I just made Lentil Tacos using a recipe from this site and they were so good. I know Lentil tacos sound gross but seriously you can't tell that you are eating lentils and not ground beef.

Allrecipes.com has the best search functions and thousands of great recipes. I love using their ingredient search when the pantry is getting bare!

Joy of Cooking, and the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. My Southern Living book comes in right after them. I also get a lot of recipes off food network's website.
One of my favorites is a crock pot cook book. It is from Rival. The New Creative Crock Pot Cookbook
And of course, my own personal cook book I have put together!!
Pretty much anything in Reiman Publication's 'Taste of Home' cookbook series. And 'Mennonite Country-Style Recipes' by Esther Shank- she has so much information on pretty much anything you will do in the kitchen for down home cookin'! And Allrecipe.com is my other standby.

Someone gave me a Betty Crocker Bridal Edition when I was married, and it's huge, so we've still been trying recipes from there. I also like allrecipes.com, it helps to have the reviews and see what worked for everyone. I like trying recipes from people I "know" just so I can ask if I can't get something right, and finding the right amount to make.
I have a 1977 edition of Betty Crocker that is so worn it's falling apart. Some really awesome recipes in there! I also love, love, LOVE Peg Bracken's "I Hate To Cook Cookbook"..it has some extremely easy recipes, and she's very funny, too, so you get a chortle with your meals. :) I think that was published in the early 80s, but it's well worth searching for if "easy and fast" is your main criteria.
I also love the Saving Dinner site, as well as BH&G recipes, but BH&G usually has more exotic & harder to find (and more expensive!) ingredients.
