I Rocked My Hair Hard!

Don't mind the face, I was being goofy yesterday morning.
So I've been wrestling with the fact that my hair looks awful for months. For weeks I have been scanning my magazines for styles I like to rip out to take with me when I go. My hair is past the middle of my back, sleek straight and one length. It's getting to the point where it just looks bleh whether it's up or down. I want to get about 12 inches cut off (and donated), add bangs and layers and POOF! New Mama. I especially want this to happen before Papa Fox's graduation on January 2nd...

I hacked it off! Yeah I rock it hard. When I got home Papa Fox just said "Wow."
We may change it a bit next month. Both the stylist and I agreed that taking it slow with such a drastic change would be best. In a couple of weeks, we're going to dye it....some color. I haven't decided yet. I've been wanting a color change but with so much hair it would have taken a lot of dye. Now would be SO much easier. I love short hair. Both Papa Fox and I have been playing with it. I'm going to test out a couple more styles today. It's weird not being able to do my stand-by bun. But I'm having fun.
Now I need to buy a round brush so I can flip the ends out. My round brush from my previous short hair days has mysteriously disappeared. No idea where it went. Probably lost in one of the 3 moves I've made since I started growing my hair out...

again, looks great! i'm going to donate my hair one more time before baby #2 comes. i think it might be the last time. it takes over 2 years to grow, and i'm too low maintanence for it...and it's heavy. any short cut will do.

I was thinking of getting it cut like yours but then again, it took me years to get the length I have. haha

I love changing my hair completely. I've had all colors of highlights (red, purple, blue...) and about every haircut imaginable. I don't think I'll ever grow my hair out again though. I always get to the stage where I wear it in a ponytail everyday, get sick of it, and chop it off.
I'm about to get a bunch of my hair cut off too.

Your hair looks great! My hair has been long for the majority of my life but I've made changes to it that I think are really wonderful. I got it layered, got it framed, and got bangs. I really like my hair now. You hair looks like it has some gold and red tones...so when it's time to colour...maybe you can play with that? Or maybe you something totally different in mind, haha! Either way, good luck and have some happy hair days!
SHAZAM indeed! I love it! *glances over shoulder* If Tim ever finishes with 'Fall Out 3' I want to stop off at Ulta before we hit the grocery store. Some new make-up and possibly a boxed kit of highlights are in order. I still need to cut my hair, too...but it's only a few inches so it won't be a huge transformation or anything like yours was! Wowza!
Your hair looks great! :) I'm growing my hair out...just because it's been dyed, cut, and sun damaged a lot in the past 8 years...so I'm trying to grow out the last dye job (2 years ago) and continue growing it until it reaches my waist. :) It's been a long year, both timewise and hair-length...it's a bit below mid-back now, and still going. Unfortunately, I may need a trim for maintenance in January.
I plan on growing the biggest Afro ever.
My hair used to go up to under my hips! It has always been long as hell. But recently I was like "JUST CUT IT!" and I did. lol.
Its grown out since then (a little!) but when I first cut it it was a little under my shoulders.
I had long naturally curly hair, but was getting so frustrated with it and how much product it took to tame it - so back in February I got around 12 inches chopped off. In June I got it cut even shorter, and now I am in a limbo stage. I'm debating whether to get it re-styled short, or let it grow long again. With a baby on the way, I'm thinking short will be easier...

That's great! I cut my hair from very long to fairly short recently. My husband is a little bit obsessive about my hair, but one day I just couldn't stand it any more, so I chopped if myself. After I got done, I called him and said "Do you think I could cut my hair myself?" He said "Probably why?" And I said "Cause I just did!" I've had lots of compliments on it, and I really like it. It was a nice change.
Cute haircut! Isn't it amazing how a new haircut can just give you that look and feel of "instant polish"? I love that feeling, even if it's been so long since I've had a haircut that I'm starting to forget what it feels like!
To answer the question, I've been seriously thinking about cutting my hair. Mine is past the middle of my back, like yours was, and it's super-thick, heavy, a bit on the coarse side and wavy/curly. I did have it shorter a few years ago (the shortest it had ever been in my entire adult life, in fact). It was slightly shorter in back than it was in front, but otherwise basically all one length, just barely able to graze my shoulders. I'm thinking I want to go back to that, but I'm kind of torn. I've been wanting to grow my hair as long as I can just to see how long it can get, but I'm not sure I'm ready to cut it just yet. So for the time being, I'll probably just invest in an enormous set of hot rollers and use those. At least then I'll be able to do SOMETHING with my hair besides wear it in a ponytail!

I change my hair color every now and then and get it trimmed. My hair used to be long, but now it's just past my shoulders. Yours looks great though. :)

I'm trying to grow mine out longer, I miss it when I cut it all off.
I changed it a few months back by donating 11 inches.
I might dye it soon, I was thinking about bangs but I don't think so.

I made a change like that a few months ago. Cut off more than a foot to donate and then a few more inches getting layers. I don't like short hair... maybe I'm just not used to it. I've had long hair for about 8 years, so I have no idea what to do with it short.
@onlyFORaLILwhile@xanga - Yup. My dad is a hairstylist (he's the one who did the cutting) and he sent it off to that "locks of love" or something.

My hair's life story: didn't cut it until I turned 18 and got sick of people thinking I was a chick. Got a crappy mohawk from someone at Fantastic Sam's who had no clue. Grew that out for awhile, then got a proper 'hawk from the barber (cheaper too). Bleached it. Dyed it green. Now it's in the awkward hurts-to-look growing out stage so I can do some anime cosplay. If I f*ck up my hairline trying to impersonate some one like Abarai Renji, I will probably go back to my 'hawk.
