I Love Southern Comfort...
by Mama Turtle No - not the alcohol , but one of my favorite movies: Steel Magnolias.
While stuck on the couch, perpetually nursing, I started channel surfing and this had just started. Just what I needed was some good laughs and cries. It's still funny after years of watching it over and over again because the actresses are fantastic, and that would also be why Sally Field still makes me sob during the graveyard scene every time.
One of my favorite memories growing up was watching this for the first time with my mom, and the above graveyard scene made us cry and then in an unexpected 180 degree turn we started laughing uncontrollably with tears still streaming down our faces.
Since I've been bummed that time is flying by too fast, with D losing three of his baby teeth right in a row and C already about to bust out of his newborn size clothes, it was nice to retreat to the early nineties for a little while.I've noticed now that I've gotten older I feel differently than I used to about the characters - when I was a kid, I was all gung ho for Julia Roberts and her wanting a baby despite her health and gee her mom was being such a beyotch! Now that I am a mom I see it the other way too, no matter how old the children get they will always be my babies and the desire to keep them from harm will always be there.
What are some of your favorite movies?

I've never seen the movie but I keep hearing it's good.
Wow the styles have changed. Good thing...they look hideous! :-o
I've loved Willie Wonka and The Wizard of Oz since I was a kid. But BOBBY is the best movie I've seen in a long time.
Not many favorites anymore, to tell the truth. Movies are too into sex, and 'good' story lines tend to be cheezy as hell now, which is just annoying..
Stranger than fiction was a good movie.
