I give them as much air out time as possible and use a diaper rash salve from Northern Essence. It works great and it's safe to use with cloth diapers.

My physician recommended combining Maalox (yes, maalox) and aquaphor until it's somewhat paste-like. The maalox takes the sting away. The aquaphor provides a protective barrier that keeps the bottom dry. Sounds really weird but works wonders!!!

Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash cream works really well too!

My sister used Bordeaux's Butt Paste with my nephew and it worked like magic.  I work at a Toys R Us and there are a lot of parents that swear by that stuff too.

Desitin always works the best for my kids. We've tried a lot of other stuff and their bottoms like the Desitin!

I use Lansinoh Diaper Rash Ointment it has lanolin and zinc oxide in it. Some times I will use just the Lansinoh lanolin and that seems to work really well to protect his bottom.

This came from my kids pediatrician:

Aquaphor, A&D, and Nyastatin (prescription-though).  Mix all 3 together and it's a paste.  Works wonders on my boys.

We swear by Boudreaux's Butt Paste  at the store!

Mix equal parts of (over-the-counter) triple antibiotic ointment, anti-fungal cream, and hydrocortizone cream.  Nice thing about it is that it soaks into the skin, so that you don't have to apply with every change.

Boudreaux's butt paste is the most awesome thing ever.

Air and sunshine!  And for a really nasty rash, Maalox does work - it neutralizes the acid that's usually the cause of the rash (particularly if diarrhea is the culprit).

i always try and air it out as much as i can before getting peed on, then use A&D. I love that stuff. I use it on myself for my own skin irritations and cuts and stuff. Destitin was too messy and didnt always have a positive result. but i found that the best way to avoid diaper rashes at all was to change the diaper as soon as you see/smell poop.

the best thing I have ever ever used is Vaseline (unscented) and Cornstarch (put the vaseline on first then sprinkle generously with cornstarch).

Its the only  thing that has worked for our 14 month old, especially with the teething rashes. It has considerably less additives then the over the counter diaper rash creams, and because it has no added fragrances, it irritates less.

Definately Boudreaux's Butt Paste. That is an amazing product. That mixed with the air out system is a wonderful cure. But remember that, after 48hrs, yeast sets into any diaper rash. If that gets bad enough you will usually need some form of yeast cream to get rid of it. Hugs!

Nothing homeopathic!  What a load of bullshit!

bath with baking soda, air dry, BREASTMILK(it helps heal it), air dry, olive oil/lansinoh lanolin(to keep moisture off the skin) and then diaper.. that worked WONDERS for me

To be honest, my daughter never had much of a diper rash problem.  I changed her diaper every two hours from the moment she was born until she was about 6  months.  Then it was every 3 hours.  One time she started to get diaper rash and it did not look good.  I took her diper off and let her be naked for a LONG time like half the day.  I did the same thing for about a week and made sure to keep her very clean and moisturized.  I used shoot...I forgot the name of it.  LOL  It's like vaseline.  It's kind of expensive and it comes in a white jar with a blue top.  I used that on her and it kept her skin smooth and soft not peeling or dry.  I used desetin to prevent it but this other stuff I just mentioned to help cure it.
